Does Your Household Share A Computer, Or Is There One Per Person?

My husband and I prefer to have one computer each, since we both rely on our computers for our income, as well as our personal entertainment, when we're not entertaining eachother. However, earlier this year we both suffered from personal computer problems, and in two back-to-back situations, we both shared a computer. He got his problem solved, and my computer needed repair, so we went from sharing my computer, to sharing his. Now we both have our own computer again, and we're happy. We promised never to share a computer again unless, like the earlier times, it is an emergency. LOL So, what works for you? A computer for the entire household, or a computer for the individual? And why?

My household shares my computer. I can't say much about it either because it's the only computer in the house. I would love to get a laptop for everyone but its just not feasible. Come to think of it, I'll probably get a netbook for my sister here soon. She loves to write and surf myspace.

How many people live in your household? My husband and I are the only two people here, so it's no problem when we want something for ourselves. If we had children and extended family in here, we wouldn't be able to afford it either.

Six people live in my house hold so it can be pretty stressful having to fight over who gets the computer. But mainly I do because I make a living off ebay and other such sites.

me and my hubby both have our own laptops other wise we would go nuts.. we are online and keep in touch with a lot of people via the net so sharing would just make us get irritated with each other while we would be waiting our turn lol

My husband and I currently share a computer. Though even when we had our own we still had to share the connection as we are on dial-up with only the one line. It sure would be nice if we could have our own computers and without sharing a line, but with being out in the country we're pretty much limited to dial-up and I'm not about to add a second line. It costs enough with the one that we have. Happy mylotting!

There is only myself and my boyfriend in our household. He isn't really a computer person but does tend to go on facebook every so often. We just have one computer, its all we need. I am on the computer mostly, on facebook and odd occasion on mylot. I need to mylot more often as I have gone of it and haven't made payment for a few months lol I tend to keep in touch with my family using the computer as they are scattered all over the place.

We each have our own computers in our household but when all our kids are home we share and it seems like parents have to forfeit to the kids. In sum though, all adults have their own equipment and the little ones have got their dsi and psp to join the network fun.

We have three computers but are sharing one. It is a personal choice but I wish I had a personal computer now. We use the computer more than watch tv btw.

Well basically mean and my girlfriend share her laptop and my little brother uses it occasionly too. My mom has her own computer so she uses hers. Then we have a crappy desktop computer that is really slow that we occasionly use but not very much because it's just takes to long compared to the laptops.

We only have one computer but it is just me and my husband. He does not use a computer and does not want one. Sometimes when my son is over he will use my computer.

We share 3 computers in our house between my wife and myself, plus our two children! We have two desktop computers in our office, (one each) which we use for our home business and we have a laptop, which my wife uses as well as her desktop! Whenever the kids want to get onto a computer, which is most weekends, then they hop on to the laptop. I try to keep them away from my computer, as things get messed up on there if my kids play on it! Settings always end up changed, which really annoys me as I like my computer the way it is and do not like having to change it back!

Oh I could not imagine my boyfriend and I having to share a computer! Actually, I went out of town this last weekend and right after I left my boyfriend tells me his motherboard went out so I was very worried I was going to come home to having to share a computer. This is only a big issue because like you my income is all competely online, but I work for a VERY large number of companies so it is not easy for me to use another computer that does not have all of my lists, spreadsheets, invoice templates and such. My boyfriend does not work from home but his college is online and he is a total computer nerd and loves to play World Of Warcraft on his computer so we are usually on our own computers at the same time. We actually even had 4 computers at once because I have had a laptop for quite some time, and three days before his computer went out my power supply went out on my laptop. He has a laptop but it was a gift from his family and it is over 5 years old so it does not cool very well so using it for long periods of time just is not an option. It is kind of crazy to think about how much individual computers become needed in a home!

No problems for me at all. I live alone with my two pet dogs and the computer is mine anytime I want it. Luckily for me, the canine species are not interested in computers right now so I'm spared the indignity of having to share it with two other nerds.

Most household I guess would have only one computer unless all the members are working and can afford their own computers. That was what happen when I was young. Now, we each have our own computers. We bought it ourselves and my mum is always grumbling on the need to have so many computers in the house! She find it any eyesore. lol.

I have only one computer in my home. If you want to share or network a computer just use router for security purposes. And always have a back up disk to prevent deletion of all your files.. That my share...have a great day!

My husband and I had only one computer until recently. When our desktop crashed we went out and bought a laptop to use as a back-up until my husband could get the desktop reloaded and working agqain. We love having two computers now, especially since we got a wireless router and can have them both on the Internet at the same time. We live by ourselves, but our grandkids like to come over fairly often and they like to play games on our PC, so it's nice to have two available for them.

Hi danishcanadian I have my own laptop, and so my brother. I know it's not a problem if you can share and don't have something important to do on the net, but I'm a college student and sometimes I need to do research for my paper, do myLot and other site for extra income, etc. My brother wanna do his assignment too and play games, so we have different time and uses for computer. Better to have each for one person, so it's more flexible and our computer activities not disturbed by others. Once my computer hang and my brother share his laptop to me. It was a not really nice experience, he gave me time limit only 2 hours! We don't like it and same with you and your husband, promise only do it in emergency situation.
