I am a pack rat which I hate being. I save everything it bugs me so much that I do this. If I were not such a pack rat I would have more space. I need to get rid of alot of stuff. I want to get rid of some of my clothes but I keep thinking in my mind if I would wear it again or if it is too small I get back down to that size. Which you know nine times out of ten is not going to happen. I keep papers I don't need. It is quite the mess. I need to throw them away and I know it. In my mind I keep thinking there important papers for some reason. I hope someday I get over saving stuff I don't need. It would be really nice to say I am not a pack rat someday.

I am definitely not a packrat. I am constantly going through my things and getting rid of stuff that we no longer use or need. I cannot stand clutter and I like things to be neat and organised. Good luck to you also.

My grandmother is a total pack rat and I grew up watching the amount of stuff in her house just grow and grow. I decided then that I would not live like her. I would not have things in piles all over my house because I just didn't want to get rid of it. If something in my house has not been used in awhile it goes into a storage area. If it is not used with in a few months after that it goes out the door.

My wife is also like you.She does not like to throw away anything. Because of this, we still have some clothes, which are more than 15 years old. Even though she is not going to use it. She is still keeping it. Same goes for some old books, papers as well as gods pictures.

My son recently bought a new sofa, and called to tell me he was going to throw the old awa. I let him send it to my home, so a lot of furnature removing, and at last we made it. I hope I can find someone to help me.

I have a friend who has the answer for the packrat. He says to box your stuff. If the box is around after a year, it has not been openned, and you don't know what it is, then throw it away. You will never miss it. Of course, I wouldn't do this to those tax records.
