I like to read only non-fiction. For me everybook has to be a learning experience. I had a friend who held just the opposite view. He said for a person who has crossed thirty and had lived his life well, by which he meant one has put his gray cells to good use in thinking-- there is nothing a book could "teach". Hence he would read only fiction and nothing else. I asked him what he would do he had a job on hand where he needed a specialized knowledge, which to begin with is available from a book? His answer was, "I would catch hold of people like you(that is me)who would like to read for knowledge and it would take me very little of motivational effort to get you to read and do the same." This man didn't grow much in the organization. I wouldn't buy his idea. There is a lot one would not know. We aren't talking worldly knowledge, like, how one should move with people, how to get them to do what one wants them to do. I feel the best motivator is one who shows by example. so, once again my choice is Non-fiction generally, and fiction by selection and recommendation.

I like to read fiction and well as non-fiction, and when I go to the library, I usually borrow many different kinds of books. I like to read novels, short stories and poems. I enjoy horror stories and books based on real stories, but I also read other kinds of novels. I write poems myself, and that is one of the reasons why I like to read the poems that other people have written. When I rad non-fiction I usually choose books about psychology, personal development, psychiatry, travelling, languages or art.

I prefer reading fictional books that stirs my imagination and visualization skills. I like books that not only provide information (like info on how a place is, the culture of a particular place, etc.) but also have mystery and suspense in it. I used to read Enid Bliton's "Famous Five" and "Secret Seven" and Nancy Drew :) Now i have started exploring other authors publications and my fav is Dan Brown :)
