Do you always want a sauce?

When eating whether in a restaurant or at home, do you always want a sauce? I know of a person who would always want a fish sauce for his meal at home. Like, when the viand is Afritada or Sinigang, he want to have a fish sauce on his side, to dip it once in a while. Even if the viand is Adobo he still wants a fish sauce. I think, this is a common practice in the Philippines. Some would want a soy sauce and calamansi, or some wants a chili on the fish sauce or soy sauce. How about you, do you like sauces? What kind of sauces goes with what kind of meal? Do you have more appetite when there is a sauce available? thank you mylotters.

haha..yes i do! like when im eating sinigang, its a must that i have a fish sauce with chili on the side! hehe and when its nilaga i need to have a fish sauce with calamansi...and with grilled foods...a soy sauce with calamansi and chili...haha for me it perks up the flavor and i really like it! but for afrida or other already saucy foods, i don't like using fish sauce...it tastes differently...for me. and i even like 'bagoong' as a sauce for camote tops....hehehe

Well, all Kapampangans are like that... they can never eat a meal without dipping sauce... but in my case... even if i lived all my life (except 2 years) in Pampanga... but i never liked dipping my food on fish or soy sauce... except when eating fried fish of course... i feel like when i do that... i am taking away the real flavor of the food i am eating... so i prefer to eat my meal the way it it prepared... without any add on taste...

I seldom need a sauce because I prefer to taste the original flavor from the chef. I don't need to add the sauce to spoil the chef's masterpiece. It is the same that I won't add the pepper, salt and so on for the dishes in the restaurant. I love China

yes it is more appetizing with any sauce. the grilled foods are good dipped in soy sauce with calamansi and ketchup for my pork. it is a cultural thing, don't u think so?

I really don't like having sauce with everything. Some foods were just meant to be enjoyed by themselves rather than with sauce. I hate how these days food can never be served by itself, but with a million things that can be added to it.

I like sauce with some of the foods that I eat. I do eat more sometimes when I eat a sauce with my food that I am dipping into it, if it tastes good. I am trying not to eat alot though because I am trying to lose weight.

I'm not big on ketchup or fish/soy sauce, though I do dip sometimes just to add a bit of flavor. When eating fries, I usually ignore the ketchup, but if there's gravy available then I dip my fries in the gravy! Same with fried chicken. With calamaris, I used to just eat it without dip, but I found that the flavor is enhanced when dipped in vinegar. With siomai, i prefer just dipping it in just a tiny bit of chili oil. For spring rolls, I prefer sweet chili sauce, though I'm fine without it.

I'm a sauce person most defiantly. I put BBQ sauce on my sandwiches, then I have to have either ranch or blue cheese for my buffalo chicken wings and strips. I have to have honey mustard and honey for my whopper, for the chicken tender sandwich I have to have sweet and sour sauce. I also pick sweet and sour or BBQ sauce for my chicken nuggets. When I go to taco bell or make my own tacos I have to have the taco sauce to go with it. With shrimp I have to eat it with cocktail sauce it's a must, LOL and there is a lot more things. It drives my husband crazy, because his like how do you know how anything truly taste when you are always putting sauce on it, but I like what I like.

It would depend on what I am eating. I like ketcup on fries, hamburgers. My fish and steaks I just like to eat without and sauce just a little salt and pepper on them. If I am eating chicken strips I will dip them in ranch dresssing.

It depends on what I'm eating. I do enjoy dipping and having dishes with sauce, but sauces can have a lot of sodium and fat.

No, I don't need sauce when I'm eating. But it really depend on the meal, but most of the time I would rather eat the meal as it is than having a sauce.

Yes I love sauce on everything and I mean everything. My favourite sauce is Heinz Tomato Ketchup. It grosses out my friends because I put it on everything like fries, mashed potatoes, chicken even vegetables. I just hate my food not having a sauce.

Well for me, sauce is not really my cup of tea, as it will spoil the original taste of food.. haha =D Some food are meant to have sauce with it, but not all.. It depends on what i'm eating, and be allocating different sauce to it.. Such as sashimi, i prefer to eat it plain, instead of eating with wasabi and soy sauce, as it spoils the natural sweetness of salmon.. hehe

Back home, I do always want to have dipping sauce whether I'm at home or I'm eating in a restaurant, but it all depends of what I'm having. Here I'm not sure if they will give me a dipping sauce when eating in a restaurant, but maybe they would if I'm eating in Asian restaurant. I haven't tried to ask for dipping sauce whenever we go eat in a restaurant and maybe I should try! Here at home,I normally make soy sauce with lime or lemon and chilli in it as dipping sauce, I like calamansi, but they don't have it here. Sometimes I also buy fish sauce, but I rarely have it as dipping sauce because it taste different!

Sauce is my must-have whenever i'm having my meals. No matter whether it's in a restaurant or at my home, i'll always asking where is a sauce bottle. I like sauce because i think it's healthy and contains many vitamins which good for our health. Since it's liquid, then it must be easy to absorb by our body. My favourite is chili sauce. I think i can't eat if there's no chili sauce on my meals. I don't know why but i recently i always having hot meals. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.
