Hello, My daughter just start her first day at school today, she is Kindergarten. They sent home with a package to fill out right? I have to pay $43.75 for her lunch on monthly basis, and $6 for PTA member thing. I Just finished all the paper work and since like I have a lot of homework for this new school thing. Plus, she was a class president and then she has to find 3 things to put in the box. Do you think $43.75 is a reasonable price for kindergarten's lunch? and do you have any good experience for this new school thing? I did, lolz... did a walk under a hot hot sun... god, couldn't even stand in one place.

Do you have to pay it? Plastic lunch boxes are still in with the cool kids right? I'm in college at the moment and I will probably end up packing my lunch to save money. Go go Batman lunch box! If they don't still come with a thermace still, I'll be very upset.

Hello, well... you can pack snack or lunch if you like... but this is her first time in school alone and I dont want to make it too complicate on her. So I will pay for this month and if she doesn't like food there then I will pack her lunch. you know kid like to do thing the same like her friends. lolz... can't believe school is expensive huh?

In high school our lunch went from a $1.75 to $1.90. So it came out to be $38 a month. I found it cheaper to just make a sandwich or something rather than eat at school. Not like I missed much the food there was horrible. But I did miss getting that quarter back everyday, then on Friday I could get a drink out of the vending machine, good times. But I digress, if the food was more, Eatable? Healthier? I could understand the price, but for the amount we got for the money, not worth it at all.

I know. at first i thought $1.75 was ok but when I calculate them in month then it worth a lot. they said, if she misses any then they will count it for the next following month. but it still seem lot to me though

$43.75/month is outrageous!! They better be feeding those kids some healthy food, although I think we pay $10/week so that evens out to about $40/month... They feed them the most unhealthy foods too...corndogs, chicken nuggets, hotdogs, blah blah!! YUCK!! Public school is way expensive...which is why we will begin homeschooling next year!! (*okay well that's not really the reason, but it plays it's part...although curriculum is $800)

I read the food thing, look like they provide good food though but it is just a little expensive to me. $1.75 a day, and this $43.75 is for 25 days and plus 3 lunches free.

that comes out to be about 2.50 a day. Kinda high especially when most schools have awful things for lunches. perhaps you should make lunches for her?
