Using the law for cover.

Philippine presidential son Mikey Arroyo found himself in a blunder when he granted a television interview about his mansion in California. In his Statement of Assets and Liabilities, the house was declared under a company. A Philippine company needs a home in California? And when queried about where the money used to buy the house come from, he stated that much of it came as wedding gifts. Uh-oh! A duly elected congressman that he also is is not allowed to receive such donation. When he realized he was trapped, he invoked his right to be sued in court should anyone had legal evidence against him. But the damage had been done. The episode had been branded Arroyo's media suicide. That is what one gets for using the law for cover. Let us wait for his day in court.

Hi eileenleyva, I agree with u. U know we too had a prime minister who went all the way to UN and gave a speech in our language and it was hailed as a great thing, a matter of national pride. And a few years later he went to the United States to get his knee operated - Indian doctors were not good enough for him. So much for the national pride. Of course most people are too lost in hero worship to notice such inconsistencies. Many are not aware of law like u r. Pity.

Hi vandana7, I do hope that your prime minister had his knee back well and good. Otherwise, you could always chide him to seek the services of his own people. I am for patriotism. It is a virtue. Our Creator had always assigned each and everyone to belong to a people. We should be grateful for that.
