Well a friend of mine goes to movies with his parents, well at the beginning i thought it to be 'uncool' but just think, it isn't like that actually, it can be cute... although the movie has to be 'compatible'... but still i used to go movies with parents when i was a very very small child... it has been ages i didn't go movies with my parents and the times up now.... . . . Do you go to the movies with your parents now ? What do you think about it ? Your reasons to support it or to oppose it...

Hello voldrox. The "cute" word you used in your discussion is quite nostalgic isn't it? I go to the movies with my family actually. I love it when i am with them. I also love it when i am with friends but the company of being around with your family is much more comfortable *not to mention for our pockets*. The last movie we watched was Transformers 2. We actually have a big family so it's seldom that we can watch movies together. We got complimentary tickets from a friend of my father so we all decided to watch it *even though my grandmother and mother slept the whole time!*. It's actually fun and the bond is nice with family. Try it yourself.

Hi koalapenguin... . . yeah i admit that the word is quite nostalgic...hehe... wow i am glad you are having such a beautiful time with your family... i am sure you guys enjoy a lot together.... yeah going to movies is lite on our wallets i agree... plus yeah we can have a lot of fun watching some action movies too... dad and i have a common liking towards action movies sometimes the kungfu karate stuff...hehe... mom wouldn't mind joining into some action although she likes to see something which resembles more emotions...we haven't been to the theater for quite a long time... now i am also living away from home..i am undergoing graduation and am living in a hostel.... oh i am assuming you live in a joint family ? isn't it... yeah i know living as a joint family can be really exciting.... thanks for sharing and yeah have a nice weekend tomorrow!

It's not really a joint family. We call it extended family. Though the only person who lives among us is our grandmother and no one else. Not really many families in a single roof. My brother and father loves to watch action movies too but those of Manny Pacquiao's matches only. While my mom is not fond of watching at all. Both of my mom and my grandma digs watching Local drama films. So what's the life of living in a hostel? A lot of my friends are living away from their families too. And they party all night. Some say it's freedom.

Yes, i go to watch movies mostly with my parents and sometimes with my friends too. Yes, the picture should be clean enough for a family to watch it. most of the movies these days are for adults and less films are made for the family to watch to gether. i still go with my parents and watch movies especially that of Shahrukh khan.

Hi voldrox, I never watch any movie with my parents in cinema hall. In my childhood only on festivals we are allowed to visit cinema hall, that also with some elderly person from home but definitely not my parents. Now also we rarely visit cinema hall for watching movie. Now CDs are available otherwise movies are coming in TV. I think it is fun to watch movies with parents in childhood.

Hi Sreekala . . . well even i used to watch movies with parents when i was a small child... now my parents don't take any interest in going to the movie theater, dad has become busy and mom doesn't want to go out for just watching movies, most of the time i go out with my close friends... it is fun to watch movies with them... although i don't really know how fun it would have been if i went to watch some action movie with my dad .... we both like watching action movies at home... certainly it sounds like fun but then he is a lot busy and well things had to be that way.... so we sometimes watch action movies together...at home hehe.... thanks for sharing ... have a nice weekend!

I go to the movies with my mom all the time, mostly because she's always available to go, but she's fun to hang with too, even though she does snore almost as soon as the lights go out in the theatre, seems like i'm always jabbing into her with my elbow, which does cut into my enjoying the movie time, but oh well...better than going and sitting alone.

I would love to go to the movies with my parents. Unfortunately, this has never happened. I don't know why exactly. Maybe because my parents are not really movie buffs or maybe because my parents think that it would be a waste of money since it is expensive to watch movies in movie houses nowadays. But if I could convince them, I would go to the movies with them. I think we would have a good time. I hope it happens though. :)

I used to go to the movies with my parents but since I started to understand how they are while we go for a movie, I actually stopped going with them, my Dad is really impatient, he will tell us or simply narrate to us what will happen next in the movie or he will tell us what he will do if he was this character or that, then he will criticize the director or someone else. So everyone near us will start getting irritated, and mom will say that she could have this or that if she was at home as she thinks she is wasting her time and when she gets home she will say the contrary so I was unable to understand a movie with both of them besides me. Since then I go either with my sister, my brother or my friends. Maybe you are wondering why not with my boyfriend! Well because the latter is just like my Dad.!!

heheh i understand med, my dad is like that too, he tries to act smart in a funny way sometimes... he loves to tell the next scene and how the movie is going to end... lucky we only watch moves at home otherwise certainly other people would not want to listen to what he has to say, sometimes i join my dad and have funny times and then mom stares us like this'you people'..HEHE... i and dad share our common interest in watching action movies and mom isn't actually into such movies but when there are emotional moments mom also watches in patience... hmm we do enjoy movies but we don't go to the theaters... dad is really busy now and mom doesn't want to go out just for some movies... hehe yeah like you i go watching movies with my siblings and friends, and we are able to watch what ever movies we like.... thanks for sharing your experience with us... have a nice day med!:)

I am from the Philippines and we have close family ties. It is a usual thing for us here to watch movies with our parents and even with siblings. It is bonding time for us to watch movie together. I guess, it really depends on the culture that one has grown but for me it is just a normal thing.

I don't. It's not that I don't want to but mom is not a fan of cinema. She hate it when she can't control the movie and she think it's meaningless and waste of money. She think it's better to buy the DVD and watch it at home. So I just buy her the DVD and we have family time at home No problem. I can go to the cinema with friends.

Its been some time since i went to a movie with my dad. but me and my mom go out a lot. Movies, shopping, walking, park, anywhere, i don't mind going out with my mother, she's just as fun to be around then my friends. I guess my mother's presence is more soothing, with my friends i am restless, i rush them and myself, they commented a few times that i can't linger in a shop for more than a few minutes. haha.

Hi dex... . . . i understand... you both must be having such a nice time together after all that shopping and going out... well i too like to watch movies with my dad, coz you know we both share a common in watching some great action movies.... we do love to watch some action and also like to predict what the next scene will be like, most of the time my dad is accurate, but there are certain moments when the movie takes a nice twist and dad watches in silence... it is wonderful... good times... but we don't go to the theater anymore, just stay home and have great time, it has been quite a long time we didn't go the theater.... hope you have nice time out there dex.... thanks for sharing, have a nice day dex!

I used to go to the movies all the time with my mom. It was our mother daughter outing so that we could spend time together. We would even include my sister-in-law. I was fun to be just us girls out having fun and bonding.

Yeah, I think when I was maybe 13-15 I thought it was "uncool," but then I realized if we like the same movies, who cares? So now I will do it and not feel bad about it at all.
