Does untimely death suddenly make people seem better than what they were?

How immune are u to such feelings? Did u realize that under normal circumstances if Michael Jackson had lived till 80, may be u would not have remembered him? Did u realize the human tendency to recall and highlight good qualities of the person when the person is no more, completely denying the existence of bad qualities? Why do we do that? I want to know what u all think.
