Watching reruns.....do you still cry or laugh in the same places after seeing

it more then once....how about after 10 times? I watched Overboard with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell this afternoon.....I still cried and laughed at about the same time as I did the first time I saw it.....especially the end when he goes and gets her! Sometimes though I do find something I missed in watching it over and over again...so when you watch a movie..do you still cry or laugh at the same scenes as you did the first couple of times you watched it or are you prepared for the scene and it doesn't affect you any more?

Hi jill. For the most part, I do. Though it may not be so surprising as it was the first time around. LOL I've done this with a few movies and a few TV programs too! Even though I know what to expect I may still laugh, cry, or at the very least get choked up on a certain scene, depending on how many times I've seen it already. It also depends on my mood as well. For example if I'm feeling kind of sappy while I'm watching something I'm more inclined to feel more emotional towards that movie or show. Go figure! LOL Happy mylotting!

I sure laugh and cry in many of the same places each time I view a movie. Its easy to find something new in a movie; specially, if the movie is really long. I think sometimes by seeing a movie with friends I'll see certain things and they will be different than viewing alone.

The saying goes "ya blink and ya miss it", well that is so true with many movies. I am one that can watch a movie a 100 times and still laugh, cry and roll my eyes at that same old thing.

HaHa, are you kidding? I still cry when the little tiny "Who's" in Whoville from the Grinch all start singing in the end, and the Grinch turns out to be a good guy, hahaha! I don't like sad movies at all but sometimes my friends will recommend seeing a movie and lo and behold, there's a really sad part and I hate it. The movies are great and well done, I'm just not one for sitting and crying because it just makes me TOO sad, if you know what I mean. I remember watching My Girl like some of your responses were mentioning and thought I was gonna die.

I love watching re runs of the Indiana Jones films.I find them just as funny as ever and always wait for the good bits that are exciting. You are right the more you watch a film the more you see.Back to the Future films well we have them on video thats how long we have had them.Love it at christmas if one comes on .The person who wrote those did the last one first but realeased them the other way round,it is so clever how they did it ,and I always enjoy seeing them again.

I did have the same feelings when I watch the movie, Stepmom for the second time. I cried at the ending when Jackie (Susan Sarandon) knows that she's dying and then accept Isabel (Julia Roberts) as the stepmom of her two childrens. As for comedy, there are some that I still laugh out loud when I watch it the second time, such as Mrs Doubtfire, Big Momma House and Dr Doolittle. But there also some comedy that I'll find lame when watching it for the second time, such as What Women Wants, 40 Years Old Virgin and The Full Monty.

There are some shows and movies that still make me cry or laugh at the same place in the movie that I have before. I too do the same with Overboard! lol I really like that movie. Dirty Dancing makes me cry in certain parts. I think it will always affect me watching certain movies. I can be such a softy!

yes in a few times i may still laugh and cry on those sames scences. but after so many repeat i feel like it is just so predictable and the emotions that i felt as i watched them on the first few times will not be there any more. and the movie may not be as funny or as moving as i thought it would be. it would look like a movie. i would see them as actors and just another movie and i don't feel them like they reflect reality or reality itself as i watch them.

Yea I do. Sometimes I watch the reruns just to see the funny part. I laugh like 5 times or so. Maybe not 10. When I watch it the second time, some parts are not funny and some parts still are.

For me it depends on how many times I have watched it and how well I remember the scenes, the jokes and the dialogues. If I don't remember much about the movie then I am likely to be laughing or feeling sad. I don't think I have watched the whole movie ten times or more.

I don't watch too many movie reruns unless they are in my top favorite movies of all times, then I may watch them when they come on every year. I have always loved "White Christmas" with Bing Crosby, and always cried at the end of the movie. Now when it's on , I only tune in at the end to see the dramatic ending, because I am bored watching the whole darn thing again...lol. Some movies are worth watching several times, but after 4-5 times, the effect is no longer there.

When we watch tv shows or movies over and over again, we know all of the parts that touch us the most. Maybe that's why we still cry at every heartwrenching moment and laugh at the silliness. Even though we watch shows repeatedly, we can still find something we missed the time before. Some shows aren't worth the second preview. yet there are others that can be enjoyed endlessly.

I will watch Dirty Dancing over and over again. Love to watch the dancing so no time to really laugh or cry. I find it amazing that a man like Patrick Swayze can dance. He's terrific. I do watch the Golden Girls over and over and over again and still laugh my tush off. They were just hysterical.

Good morning, once i have seen them i just don't like to watch them again. i had rather watch news things that i don't know how they are going to end. I am the same way about books, don't like to re-read them either. Thanks for your comment.Happy days to u.

I do, I watched the Merlin series and I always enjoy it. I also watched The Sound of Music, Star Wars, The Notebook and I always enjoy them every time I had re-watched them. These are very good movies that one could watch over and over and still discover new things and be entertained to the max. Happy mylotting and all the best.

Hi jillhill, you probably won't be familiar with this TV show as it's an English one but we watch it on Youtube. It's 'The Apprentic UK' which is totally hilarious. There was a scene a few years ago which I believe was labelled the funniest moment ever on UK TV and sometimes my son will ask me to find it and play it again, and again, and I must say each time we are on the floor laughing. It really is worth looking up on Youtube and can probably be found under funniest moment ever of 'Simon and the Trampoline'. It has to be seen to be believed.

Depends on how good the movie is. I rank a movie's "greatness" on its ability to still evoke emotions in me after multiple watchings. For example, My Girl still makes me cry every single time I watch it. The Princess Bride never fails to make me smile. And The Lord of the Rings still makes me go "Whoa...awesome" everytime I watch it again and again and again and again. I think it's easier for a movie to make you laugh over and over again, even if you already know the jokes, because it's all about delivery. I think a movie is truly great if it can make you cry every single time you watch it.
