Hi everyone! I'm hoping someone can help me! My recycle bin for my computer has always been on my desktop, like it always is on computers. Well, one day it just wasn't there anymore! When I delete stuff it still says they go to the recycling bin, but I can't find it! I've tried searching for it on my start search, no luck! Can someone please help me get my recycling bin back on my desktop! Thanks!

Are you sure you haven't accidently put it in a folder or something while you were putting other things in folders, I have done that before...gee I hope you find it..it will be interesting to see where it went...

You can find mine in my control panel. I hope that helps you alittle. Also if it cannot be found if you can remember when it went off, You can set your computer to a restore point. Everything has been waky in my town the last few weeks. Stores have not been able to take credit or debits because of computer malfunctions. I had to set my computer to a restore point (although I had to download two programs again it took off, no prob) and even had to restore my internet explorer back to the original date it was put on. These are options. You may even go to your back-up files if you have that set. If that does not fix it . I don't know . You sound like me anything that is not what I am accustomed to when it comes to my computer really borrows me.

I have no idea what happened to it either but have you tried to do a system restore to try to get it back? That may work. You may be able to do a system backup restore also and get it back.

Probably where unused icons go. That would be my guess. I'd try set-up and see if I could get it back.

It's possible that you have just deleted the short-cut icon but not the recycle bin itself. you can always to personalization and create another short-cut for the recycle bin

it might've been accidentally moved into one of the folders on your desk top - happened to the roomie once, but in her case, the cats helped...

oh that'S interesting. I have never seen such an issue before and I have been using windows systems for more than 10 years now. Normally, you can't move it to a folder it would only create a shortcut of the recycle bin into the folder. and also you can't delete the recycle bin folder. however, if you want to find the deleted files which are stored in the recycle bin, you should go to C:\Recycled folder. however, this folder is a hidden system folder and you will need to change your settings from the folder options to see that hidden folder. when you enter there, you can see the containings of your recycle bin and you can delete them. it looks your registry is messed up a little (maybe by a virus) and the recycle bin icon doesn't appear on your desktop.
