what do you think of drunk driving caused four death?

there is a man who drunk drove along the road one day and knocked down four completely innocent people to death, and after police got him they found that he was of NO DRIVING LICENSE at all. but after two trials, the judge and the jury has claimed that this man is not appropriate to be sentenced to death, but only to be sentenced in prison for ever. do you think this judgement is fair, to the people who had been knocked down pitiless and now lying coldly in funeral parlour? i really dont think it can by any means said FAIR.
