I like to watch the English news channels as they tend to cover more of the national & international news than the locals NEWS channels. The local NEWS channels give priority to the local news & a bit of national news & international news. Which language NEWS do you prefer to watch?

hmm.. I like watching both. In the morning, i like watching CNN, it really updates me on world news and the weather.. and at night, I like watching the local nightly news which focuses more on the national news.. I feel that my day is not complete if I wasn't able to check out the news.. I think it's really important that we keep up with what is happening not only to our country, but also to the rest of the world.

I like watching our local news, I think it's a habit that formed since I am young. I watch English news channels sometimes, and part of my purpose is to improve my listening :)

I guess most people would prefer to watch local news in their own language for they could understand it without any difficulties. To those who is not an English native speaker, an important purpose of watching English news is to improve their English levels.

Of course I prepare to watch news in our own language which is tagalog, but I can still understand English. I watched CNN and BBC news on our cable channel when I want to be aware of what is happening on different parts of the country. I watch CNN news when there is a big news from different country and I want the whole page of the story. I just wait on those news channel and I get updated. Our country local news only got some footages of a big event from it too, why not wait for it for myself.

Morning krupesh...living on a small Island like I do...there really is not much of a choice of which one can watch, unless one chooses to invest in a satellite dish as cable is not available. Thankfully, I get CBC which does cover national and International news...but oft I like to watch the local channels, to be alert as to what is happening in surrounding areas! Have a great weekend!

I watch the news in Italian then if there is anything particularly related to England and the UK then I will go online to BBC and listen there too. I like hearing it from the original source as some translations do get a bit warped. I haven't got satellite television at home but I can see it at work and occasionally have CNN on thre too.

Dear Krupesh, I love to watch the English news channel. I can understand better. Just this evening I and my son was watching the Prime News at 8:00 pm, Channel 1 & 2 which is national channel having the Bahasa Malaysia News, Channel Three is private channel have Bahasa Malaysia News too. Channel 4 (NTV7) is broadcasting the English News whilst Channel 8 (8TV) having the Mnadarin News. We were watching the Mandarin News today as we did not change the channel after the Korean Drama on 8TV. We can only understand the contents about 50% as we are not Mandarin speaking..Suddenly my son was saying :~ How nice if the Mandarin News have sub-title then we can understand better. At the same time we can learn Mandarin too :) Cheers and do keep in touch

I watch English news as here the main language is English so we receive news in English. You are right, the English news tend to give an overview of the world unlike others. I do not mind watching news in French too as here there is a channel which shows news in some other languages too.

If i watch news i like to watch English news but the fact is that i don't watch news at all. I feel its so boring, so irritating and sometime has very high impact on me and after seeing or hearing sad incidents i'll not be able to move on with my work happily. So i totally avoid watching news.

I prefer to naturally watch news in my native language, which is portuguese. We have 3 new broadcast programs going on 3 times a day at 3 different stations at certain hours, plus there's at least 2 more 100% news channels for free around here. So 97% of the time I watch one of those, mostly RTP. But I like to have a peak at Euronews and CNN sometimes. Or BBC even. I'd like to have access to Fox News rather than CNN actually, but no can do...

hi krupesh! i like watching news in english at times i even watch some hindi channels but then the english news channels appeal more to me. some of the hindi news channals creat unnecessary hype about nothings and such stories irritate me.

for international news i prefer english channels but for national and local news i prefer my native language (hindi). i think every news channel has its own expertise, that's why i surf between channels. analysis and reviews are also different with each channel so you get a wider perspective watching different channels.

Like you I also prefer to watch English news channels. American television gives a lot of vital information to viewers that some other countries don't. I also like to watch any news channels I have access to in the U.K. They are also informative. Anyone else agree?
