yes, the fires may have added the extra carbon dioxide which inturn should have increased the warmth of the atmosphere causing global warming. Since Carbon di oxide is a hot gas , it affects the atmosphere seriously and make it hot too.but the increasing population and the warmth produced by them is much greater than this fire. the government is taking steps to control but the fire may be seriously out of control so the firemen are not able to fight it in less time.I think the government should use more ways of controlling it as soon as possible.

These fires happen every year in California, though sometimes they are due to carelessness, most times, they are a natural occurence. the state government in California does take measures to try and minmize the danger, but there is only so much one can do. Thee aren't unused lands either, a lot of these areas are inhabited, thousands of people have had to be evacuated and many have lost homes. As to the global warming aspect, no, they do not contribute to global warming and global warming did not contribute to these fires.

i don't really know all the details here. global warming could have contributed if it has led to dryer weather in california. they might contribute to global warming but only a little - they sound extremely destructive though.

It is actually COOLER ocean temperatures that make for dryer climate in California. Green peace came out and tried to tie it to warming, untill the actual current climate data and facts on how weather mechinsms really work came out. green peace was to apear on a news show here, to talk about how global warming was to blame on the severity of the fires, they canceled as soon as they found out that a climtaologist was going to also be apearing on the show with some actual data and science. It has been pretty destructive though, a few fire fighters have also lost their lives.this latest round is believed to be arson, or at least carelesness on the part of someone. It really is just like any other part of the country though, you justaccept certain inevitablilites in living in certain areas of the country..... If you live in the mid west, you accept there are going to be tornadoes, if you live on the gulf coast, you accept there will be hurricains, if you live in new England, you accept nor' easters...etc...if you live in california, you accept there will be earthquakes and wildfires.

I am not sure. I bet it sure did not help the global warming problem though. I think they did try to put it out but it was too large to fully contain so they had to let it burn out.

those lands are occupied by Californians b ut a lot is almost inaccessible and yes our government supplied hundreds of fire fighters and big tankers to make water drops but all the land is not easy to get to, this discussion maker does not have a clue about our California wild fires. No they did not let it burn itself ou]t, people lives were at stake. I wish people would get all the facts before going off making silly aspersions.Of course they worked to try to put it out but like I said some areas are hard to get to. the journalists must not have got all the news right either from the sound of the title of this. fire attack no wild fire yes.I am sure as I live here.

no oh mygosh what kind of crap is that? I l ivein California where we have wild fires that idiot arsonists set and no those lands were not unused lands. the government does all it can by providing numerous fire fighters and huge tankers to make water drops but nature turns ugly when a big fire gets going it makes its own wind and fire fighters or not it spreads. you did not get all the news or you got it all garbled. to heck with global warmings, that fire burned people out of their homes and destroyed their livestock,it was not a fire attack ,it was set by sicko arsonists. why always put my country as a damned villain? get the correct news before making silly aspersions.Of course everyone did their best to stop the fire, Americans are not fools. My opinion is before taking pot shots at the united states get all your facts straight.Unused acres, you did not even spell acres correctly.no those are not unused acres people live there, and of course hundreds of firefights from other states were called in. It was not a fire attack, but a wild fire set by some fool. Of course we took the initiative to stop the fire from spreading but you do not even know the terrain,in some places it was impossible to get into all the canyons. study wild fires here before making uncalled for aspersions.
