Have you ever played in online casinos? What have you experienced?

I know that this can be a very controversial subject at the best of times but I thought that I would write about my own experiences and hopefully get some views on this subject. I am a member of a website called supercasino.com and I have been a member for over a year now. I know that this is looked upon as a form of gambling and I tend to agree. However, before signing up I made sure that I did some serious thinking about the possible consequences of my actions. I firstly agreed that I would perhaps play once a month and I would only spend what I was willing to lose and I would also never go down the road of chasing any losses. To date I have been very happy with my gaming experience and I have always stuck to my guns. I would play a certain amount for example and then I would lose and that was that, I wouldn't play again until the following month. In the casino I play Black Jack and thing that I like most about it is the fact that there's a live presenter so you feel like you are in a real casino. Anyway, I don't take it too seriously and I look at it as a bit of fun and it's a great form or release for me. I do understand the serious consequences that can take place if you suddenly lose control. As mentioned though I have stuck to my guns and I'm ok with the way things are going. So, I'd like your views on this. Have you played in online casinos? Have you actually visited a real casino? Please share your thoughts and experiences. Andrew

Hi Andrew this subject is close to my heart as I managed to quit my addiction last month, I was using these kind of sites to gamble, I like the slot machines and would spend a few nights of the week playing with real cash, at first I would win and then it continued with a losing pattern. I admitted to myself that I was an addict and I am still going cold turkey, I had to close my accounts and put bans on them so I couldn't gamble any more. It's nearly been a month and I haven't gambled since, I have vowed never ever to go back to online casinos again, it's a slippery slope. I admire your restraints, although I have to say that I was like you and then it overtook me, I used it as an escape, to escape my depression and my troubles, I am not dictating to you my friend, but please, please be careful. Don't follow my example. I lost a tonne of money, fortunately I had the strength to stop and admit my problem.

Hi wolfie, I'm sorry to hear about the experience you had in relation to gambling. Your information is certainly very useful and highlights the seriousness that any form of gambling can take. Thankfully I have been able to quit when I have won any amount so far. I try not to focus on it too much now as I have other things to think about like my studies in IT and things like that but I guess I throw away a small amount each month and sometimes I win and it's very nice whilst other times I lose and I was prepared to lose that amount anyway. Thanks for your advice and support in relation to this though. Andrew

Thank you my friend for the best response, I know you are sensible and will know when to quit and to take it as entertainment. Good luck and I hope you win ;0)

Jackpoyjoy is a great site because you can play all the gaming games for FREE and collect points, you use the points to win prizes. So I can still play the slots but for points not for money, although I don't in case it gives me a craving again. But at least you can play for free.

Hi rainmark, it sounds like you are also quite disciplined when it comes to playing in online casinos. I think that this is the best way to approach any form of gambling. I have not play for a couple of months now but I will be playing again at some point next month, I don't want to give this up completely as I really do have quite an enjoyable experience. Andrew

I have not been to a casino, or played a casino online. Because I might not be as disciplined as you are. If you regard it as an entertainment expense and budget for it, I am sure it is okay. It is just as okay as seeing movies, or eating out too much. Just is not something for me to do.

That's ok, that's probably the safest approach. I'm not one to try and courage you in anyway. I think that everyone should make their own choice regarding the world of gambling. Andrew
