A couple of things here are that my child is now 30, so left school a long time ago. Also the real reason I responded was to say that whilst your children are just beginning their school year, here in Australia it is the end of the school year. All schools will finish for the year about a week before Christmas and then not return for the next year till the last week of January or first week of February. :)

Alas no grandchildren either pookie - son is too busy wandering around the world at this time. DRAT However I do live in hope all the same that one day he will meet someone special and they have children, so I can remind him of all the terrible things he used to do when he was a child. LOL

LOL, well, I hope it happens for you, as my mother is taking great thrills in doing it to me.

Same as the person above. Did you know, in Asia the kids go year around, with longer breaks inbetween quarters? How did your kids fare for the year?

I just found out my almost 6 yr old is reading at a 13 year old level so I am thrilled, Her older sister is following in her foot steps. Still not sure how that happened. But not complaining

Thanks, I like yours too. My kids and I raised 200 dollars for the 3 day walk in Seattle this year. Hey, maybe you can come back and post YOUR grades when you get into college! Be glad to hear how you are doing..........

We are on the 2nd quarter here. I am very grateful. My son got Principals Honor roll for the 1st Qtr (all A's) and looks like he is going to do the same for 2nd Qtr. I am very proud!

Wow, what a great job, I bet you are proud! It is great to see kids working hard to get what they want. How do you keep him motivated? Or does it just come easily for him?

My kid is halfway through her second term (quarter)...but she doesn't get letter grades..she is a special education student they get percentages towards the goals they are working on...so for her anything over 85% would be equal to an A..at that rate the feel she has mastered that goal to the best of her ability. Some goals do take her longer than others...but all I care about is the effort she puts into not the outcome. If she tries her best I am satisfied.. I thnk it should be that way for all children..be proud of them no matter what the grade as long as the put their best foot forward and worked hard.

I so agree, my kids don't get straight A's either, I do encourage them to do better, but I always am proud of them as long as they do their best. You sound like a great parent. Keep up the good work.
