I just can't believe it! He's actually and really gone! I loved him so much and had high hopes he'd beat the cancer but obviously, he couldn't. He was such a strong man, dedicated man, very talented and oh so good looking!! But the cancer beat him down. I may not have known him personally but I loved him dearly. He was only 57 years old! Damn that's young! Nobody in this world could ever replace him. Nobody. Gosh I'm so numb over this. OMG, what about his wife, Lisa? Those two were so in love!! I'll have to say a prayer on her behalf for I know she just has to be so devastated! Those two really doted on one another. Bless her grieving heart.... Man, I'm so sick over this! I really had high hopes he'd beat this damned disease!

Hi Cats~ Yes, this is very sad. But, the type of cancer that he had is one that is unfortunately very difficult to beat and he was truly suffering. He is now at peace and no longer in pain. He showed such true courage and dignity all the way up until the very end. I feel very badly for his wife Lisa because they truly were so in love! He was an incredible person, and an amazing performer who will be definitely be missed. May God Bless him and give his family the strength to go on without him~

It was a shock to my husband and I as well. We lost way too many people in the last year, but then with celebrities, it seems that we lose way too many every year. And then I wonder how many people die a day, that are not celebrities, and do we ever hear about them? But then how many are born? LOL So much to think about.

When I first heard he had pancreatic cancer, I thought "Uh-oh" because that's a deadly disease and the recovery rate is very low. The mortality rate is somewhere at around 90% if I remember correctly. It's sad but it's a reality of life. This is another example on how life can end at any time. We should all live life to its fullest.

I can't believe he is gone! He was an amazing actor whom many people loved! I know he was fighting pretty hard. Cancer is a very scary disease that I know some of us can relate to. At least he isn't hurting anymore. Rest In Peace Patrick!

Its so sad, I had high hopes too that he would beat this. I looked at his picture and said to him, I am so sorry, I also said sorry to Lisa. They had lots of good years together, thats going to help her go on without him. the fact also that he doesn't have to hurt anymore is going to help. I know what she is going thru, its so hard.

I just saw the news a little while ago. It's kind of scary to think he was only 57 because I'M 57! But, then, my sister was only 54 when she passed away. My father was only 46. You just never know, do you? Patrick Swayze had a particularly deadly cancer, pancreatic cancer. I know that the odds of beating that are almost non-existent. I admire his courage and determination to keep going, though. The last movie he made, while suffering from this cancer, was made with no pain medication, although he was in extreme pain. That really had to take some strong resolve on his part! He had a good attitude and seemed adjusted to the fact that he would not beat this cancer. I really admire him for that. I'm sure his wife has great memories to hold in her heart.

I was just looking at the news when they announced this again, (the day after), this is the first I had heard it. Man did it throw me for a loop, I am so sorry to hear this and my heart and prayers goes out to his family, I too loved his movies, and I can look at "Dirty Dancing" over and over again. From what I know I can say he really lived a good life. R.I.P Patrick Swayze.

HI Cats: I know how you feel, I heard about his passing late last night, and my heart just broke; Then seeing and watching the news this morning, just made me cry again; He was such a great actor, such a great kind and gentle man and he so loved his wife, his life, he was so dedicated to animals, which that part alone made me love and respect him even more; its a great loss, it really is, my heart goes out to his family and loved ones, and to all of us who loved him too; Rest in Peace now dear sweet soul, Rest in peace and know that you were loved by many and shall continue to be loved forever;

Wow! I knew he was ill, but I had no idea that he passed away until I came across this discussion. This is very sad, yet at the same time, I can't help but think that at least he is not sufferring anymore. He was such a great actor, and he didn't deserve to continue sufferring anymore. May God rest his soul.

I learned about this news from my husband who works overseas while we were chatting this morning. It's both surprising and sad. I knew he was suffering from the big C but I never expected him to go this soon. I will never forget his movies Dirty Dancing and Ghost. RIP, Patrick.

I am fan of Patrick Swayze, I actually knew the news through your post since I just arrived from work. I like Patrick since he played in "North & South" tv series. I have watched the series recently from youtube and it's good to see how young he was then. Let us pray for his soul and for his family.

I can't say Patrick was one of my favorite actors, but I have respected him for the dignity he's borne thru this whole ordeal and think its a shame that he had to go, cancer is not a good way to die. Go with Grace, Patrick, what you bear on this world you don't have in the next.
