What happened to the missing responses?

Hey zandi! I have no idea what has been going on here lately! But, I can tell you that there definitely has been alot of very strange things happening that there doesn't seem to be any explanations for! I see alot of discussions being deleted before I even get a chance to respond. I see my points going down quite alot without understanding. I have no idea what has been the reason for these sudden changes. I have also not been getting credit for days that I have posted or gotten best responses. So I really don't know what to make of these sudden changes here. But, I certainly would like an answer!

Could it be that the responses were improper according to mylot rules? I don't think i have ever had this happen to me. But I don't pay a lot of attention to the responses I get so I might not know.

Not seen it happen to mine but never can tell what happens after post or responce to some of us hmmmmmmmm

I just looked at your profile.. you do have 8 responses on the cockroach discussion, its jsut that it got posted twice.. you have two cockroach discussions each with four responses.. go to the unresolved tab and you will see ;)

Hi zandi, You discussion on Cockroaches is repeated and may be the reason for missing responses. Have you noticed the same? After posting my comment I have seen that in the friend’s discussion area your topic is showing twice. I think there won’t be any deletion and probably you are not aware about the repetition. Sometimes there may be difference in number showing in mylot page and in mail notification but four is too much.

im a searcher and found that this is starting to make a pattern! i think sometimes it all depends on what your disscusion was about, i know that one other mylotter had his entire disscusion erased, i think it had something to do with links to other sites that you can make money on! it is a bit freaky though!

Sometimes I think it often depends on which Email server you have your Email from here coming too. Sometimes I know that there are glitches in the system and I will sometimes get 2 or 3 of the same Email so that tends to throw me off, but then again it could be a glitch somewhere else as well. Personally I would just move on and continue to post, and hope for the Best in the end.

I hope it is just a glitch and they show up. I have not had that type of problem.

it has happened to me too.the one guess i made is that some of the responses may have violated the mylot guidelines and hence they got deleted,other thing is that it migght be a mylot glitch,it might have erroneously showed the wrong numbers.

I am a bit wary posting responses because a lot of my responses have been deleted, also one discussion I started for an issue that is unresolved. They say that the admin of mylot is getting stricter with the posted messages. I just pick the discussions where I post my replies so that I don't lose any responses/posts.

When I get my alerts, if some come from the same source the number is grouped in a bracket next to the name of the poster....e.g. if I post a discussion, and get 6 responders...there will be a (6) after the alert. Also, if someone posts 3 discussions the number (3) will appear after the name and this number will increase when ever the poster adds a new discussion. This continues for several hours then a new alert appears. I've received a few best responses lately and I've been surprised that the number (2) is after the alert. How can there be 2 best responses in one alert? I think the same thing that happened to you happened to me a couple of times with my last discussion I posted. There may have been a hitch in the mail out or mail in system and the alert has come twice. The reality of course is only half the number of responses. I've also noticed that I'm getting an alert if someone other than the original poster comments on my response...as you know that has not been the case lately so that tells me myLot are working in this area. Give it time, I'm sure it will work itself out.

HI Zandi! I have also been receiving misleading notifications of late. Sometimes number of responses mentioned in the alerts to the actual number of responses to my posts. Sometimes, two-three notifications are received for the same discussion of a friend. Sometimes, notification says that your friend so and so have started 5 discussions, and when I open the notification I find that there is only one discussion, which has been repeated 5 times. I was wondering if only I am receiving such alerts, however, after reading your post, it appears it is happening with others too.

Oh yeah, it happened to me from time to time. When I read the emails, I realized that there could be some words that are no-no to used in the responses. That is why they are deleted. If you have responded to them, your post could will definitely be reduced. There were times when I got some of my responses deleted a few days after I responded to them. And I was scratching my head wonder why my post count and earning were reduced. It is only later that I realized it.

Well it looks as though the mystery has been solved! I had something similar happen to me, I received email notification of a certain response and when I entered my discussion to reply, it was gone! I had no explanation like you did, I can only presume the member’s account may have been banned or something…Who knows? Glad yours has been resolved!

I haven't heard of that before you.. but similar discussions below yours went i was reading yours suggest that you are not the only one to have this happen.. I thought that the only thing that got deleted was entire discussions.. Maybe there has been a change. Could you read the responses from your email ? maybe something in them was against the guidelines.. Other then that i have no idea.. I dont get responses to my discussions emailed to me, only when people respond to my responses on THEIR discussions. i get friends discussions they start emailed to me too, but i rarely work from email in that area.. i just go to the friends discussion tab!

my whole post got deleted..and i have mentioned in my discussion that mylot is becoming more strict these days..u hvae those responses in mails..u can read them and understand what was out of rules over there..maybe u figure out the reason for their deletion...

hi zandi Ihave never had that happened to responses on my discussions 'I have had problems at time in sending a response to a discussion in which my response would just disappear suddenly. but its strange for you to have 8 in the notifications and ony four on the discussion page I cannot understand that one at all.

Did u check your spam folder? awhile back every response i got was going to mine. it finally quit doing that. Don't know why it did it or why it quit, Wierd things go on in cyberspace, lol.

Hi Zandi, very brief as rushing, you posted your cockroach discussion twice, probably by accident, so you had 8 responses from 4 people. I got 2 alerts to the same discussion. Problem solved.

Well, i don't know. but today i noticed that i lost at least thirty cents in my earnings, as i was shocked, i checked the discussions in the email notifications. i realized that one of the discussions that i replied was actually deleted by the admin
