I am a firm believer in wearing a seat belt. I believe you should wear one all the time. Not because it is the law but because it is for your own safety and well being. Seatbelts save lives. Life is important to me so I wear my seatbelt everytime I get in the car. I also do not want a ticket for not wearing my seat belt while driving. That can be costly if you don't wear your seat belt all the time. So just remember wearing a seat belt can save you money and your life.

When I was little, I seldom wore the seat belt. Now I'm learning how to drive. So when I'm driving or in the passenger seat I always wear the seat belt. But when I'm seated in the back it depends if I trust the driver.

There actually was a time in my life where I didn't like to wear a seat belt, but has all changed now. First off, I don't want to get a ticket for failing to wear a seat belt. Secondly, I am a mother now and I need to do positive things that will teach my children positive behaviors. When I was younger I really had to think about putting on a seat belt. Now, when I get into the car it is the first thing that I do as I am sitting down. Actually, to ride on a bus or anything like that is very uncomfortable to me because there aren't seat belts to wear.

Yes, I wear a seatbelt all the time. Here in Canada the penalty is also quite stiff if you or your passengers are caught without a seatbelt. It is now automatic, when people get in the car they buckle up and most drivers that I know will not leave until everybody is buckled up. It is really a nobrainer. Now many provinces in Canada also have brought in a new law where you get a fine if using your cell phone while driving. That will also save a lot of lives and cut down on accidents.

Hi Tucker, Yes I wear seatbelt all the time, whether I'm the one driving or I'm just a car passenger. I know how important it is to be protected by a seatbelt, and accidents happen when you least expect it, so it's always better to be safe than sorry.

Well, I do agree with you. It's very important for one to have the seat belts on in all occasions. In addition, I also believe that those at the back seats should also have their seat belts on for their safety. Well, we will never know when an accident may happens. It doesn't guarantee that you will be okay with it, but it's better to have it than without it. My husband was involved in a car accident 2 weeks ago, and it's lucky that he do wear his seat belt at that time (not that he don't wear it anyway). I do believe that he will be much more injured, and may even fly out of his car if he didn't wear one.

I always wear a seat belt when I sat in the front seat. But when I am a passenger in the back seat I would not wear a seat belt. The law was changed here in the first of September and everybody has to wear a seat belt. I am now wearing my seat belt everytime I get in the car. I always knew that it would save lives, but I did not do it. I do not have any money to pay for a ticket and you are right I do not want to get hurt or killed when wearing a seat belt could have saved my life.

I always where my seatbelt because I saw footage of kids in a school bus not wearing their seatbelts when the bus went over a speedbumb at full speed. One person was wearing their seatbelt and they got bruises, but the others hit the metal ceiling and had serious injuries.

Sometimes yes sometimes no, why? Because it's damn hot! My car has no AC on it and my car is oldskul that's why i only use seatbelt when there is an officer around and after i pass by the officer i take off my seatbelt, but when traveling i always use one for example camping, excursion, etc... But when im in the city proper then i will just have to take it off since i cannot go full speed ahead with the gas accelerator.

Yes...I wear a seat belt at all times. And I asked my husband, as a Christmas present to me, always to wear a seat belt. He's obliged for the past eight years (can't guarantee that, but I trust him...he always buckles up in my presence). I feel that seat belts should be mandatory. Driving is a privilege, not a right. Just as it requires a license to opeerate a motor vehicle, it should be required that all operators wear a seat belt. I drive an old car (1991 Toyota Corolla) that lacks air bags. I feel naked without a seat belt.

Yes I do wear a seatbelt, it gives a sense of security that I will at least be safe should anything occur... its also against the law if you don't wear one from where I am but I believe that wearing the seatbelt is for our own safety. and since its already there why not use it for it to serve its purpose?

I've religiously worn my seatbelt ever since I got my license and started driving. I don't think people should skip on wearing them. I know seatbelts can be just as dangerous sometimes as riding without one but I think they are important. I feel uncomfortable sitting in my car at any time and moving it without wearing my seat belt. So I definitely make sure to wear it at all times.

In my life before kids, I hardly ever wore my seatbelt. Frankly, I have mixed feeling about them and feel that it should be our choice whether or not we wear them rather than a law. However, I do have kids and I do believe that the best way to teach them is through example, so, I can't very well expect them to listen to me about wearing a seatbelt if I don't have mine on. So, yes, I do wear my seatbelt whenever I am in the car now.

Wearing a seat belt was absolutely ingrained into our brains when we were kids. We are both so well trained that our seat belt goes on as soon as we're in the seat - even if we aren't driving anywhere! I think it's a good habit to teach your kids and you're absolutely right - it's not about it being the law, it's about your safety.

I use to be someone who hated wearing a seat belt, now I wear it all the time. I never drive off without putting it on. Them tickets can cost an arm and a leg. WHAT ELSE WILL THE MAN WANT TO TAKE FROM ME???! I also DON'T wear a seatbelt when driving with my boyfriend. He has a 66' Mustang and it's not required for cars made before a certain year. LoL

Hi Tuckersheri, When I was really young I was taught that the only way to be in a car with with a seat belt on, so now even if I have it off for a few seconds while someone randomly decides to straighten up in a parking space before I get out, I always feel a bit bad like someone will randomly swoop down and fine us or something! That and I have been in a crash where it probably helped a little, so I know they are useful. Heck come to that, the idea of not wearing one is really strange, I can't imagine people doing that all the time lol! All the best, Dranz

....Hi, I am sorry to say I hate seat belts, I dislike them because they do what they are supposed to do, they restrain you. I am not an example of what you should do with your seat belt and I have been blessed not to have been in an accident, where my life was endangered because I should have been wearing a seat belt. I would say to all it is imperative that each time you get in your car to drive that you buckle up. Your life could depend on it. You could be thrown through the windshield and hurt very badly, so do what I say, not what I have done in the past, which hopefully I will change. Tuckersheri is so right.
