Which film do you prefer? I must confess that I have never seen Dirty Dancing and I have only seen ghost once. Ghost is a little too romantic and I never wanted to see Dirty Dasncing . but with that said , I am so curious which you would pick.

For me it's a question Dirty Dancing or Roadhouse. Roadhouse was good but I still prefer Dirty Dancing. Ghost was alright tho

I would say ghost. I like romatic movies. I remember seeing it in the theathers. I cried afterwards. It always reminds me life is short. Live it the fulliest. And tell your special someone you love them and show them you care.

This is a tough one for me. I love Dirty Dancing and I love Ghost, but I must say that I have more love for Dirty Dancing. Ghost does have quite the romantic element to it, but you also have the comic relief that is Whoopie Goldberg. Both movies are romantic in nature, but Dirty Dancing does have several different directions going on within the storyline. Good question here :)

I saw both and I like both. They are not really the same. The only thing that's common to both of these films is that Patrick Swayze starred in them. He was really a great dancer and I believe this (Dirty Dancing) brought the advent of lambada later on. Ghost on the other hand is a bit? romantic but nonetheless made me cry like a bucket of tears.

Ghost, definitely. It's more emotional and so much more interesting. Dirty Dancing to me is just a steamy Drama/ Romance. Patrick Swayze, Whoopi Goldberg, Demi Moore? What more could you ask for?!

Both movies were very good but I would say I enjoyed "Ghost" a bit more. The reason why is that Ghost had a little bit of several genres: Yes, it had romance, but it also had comedy, suspense, drama and a touch of horror. Dirty Dancing was pretty much just a straight coming-of-age drama/romance.

To be honest, I loved both immensely; Both was some of Swayze's best if you ask me. I was truly sorry to see him pass. But he gave a good fight. I wish I could say more, but I tell you I have seen so many folk pass on this year and it is sad.

They were both outstanding movies..it's really a toss up.....I do think however that it would be Dirty Dancing as I even have a copy of the movie and don't get tired of watching it!

They were both really good movies. It would be hared to pick a favorite. I think that I would like to see Ghost a gain. It has been a long time since I have seen it. Patrick Swayze had a really good performance in that movie and one that I think I would realyly be interested in seeing again.

Do we really have to choose? I watched both and I like both. They have totally different themes, so it's really difficult to compare. In terms of casting, I like Ghost better, because other than Patrick Swayze, there was Demi and Whoopy, and it's so romantic and I love romance, so that's a plus. And like Demi's hairstyle in that movie. For the dirty dancing, I like the dances and the dancers and the story is pretty touching too... Okay I'd go for Ghost.

These are actually two of my favorite movies. Ghost is definitely a very romantic movie but really, Dirty Dancing is as well. Both of the movies have great story lines and are really different from any other movies that I've seen. It's been quite a while since I've seen either of them and now you've made me want to start a movie day. All of that said, I think that if I could only chose one of the two movies that I would choose Dirty Dancing. I really like all of the music in Dirty Dancing.

I'd go for both. I love watching and collecting movies specially if there are wonderful actors in it. As to what I understand is that your trying to compare two movies of the late Patrick Swayze. Dirty dancing is a good movie but I have to choose Ghost. Ghost is one of my favorite movies when I was little(age 7 or 8) and it really made me cry:)

I didn't care to much for Dirty Dancing. Patrick just seemed to "old" to be playing that part... it was just an odd depiction. Ghost...first I can't stand Demi Moore so I couldn't stand the show cause she was in it, but Patrick was okay... just didn't care to much for the show. But what I did like him in VERY MUCH was the HBO mini series called North and South, Parts 1 and 2. That was the most wonderful American history show I have ever seen. I dealt with so many aspects of the Civil War (started just prior to the Spanish American War and ended with the Civil War just starting in part 1 and then Part 2 was beginning to end of the CIvil War.) He was great in that series... shame they paired him up with someone like Kathy Downs (I think that was her name)...she looked old enough to be almost his mother! But he and James Read were absolutely fantastic in that series. I just bought the box set of it. That war was about so many more things that freedom from slavery and the show depicted all those things. Can't recommend it high enough - it was great. So was Patrick. ONly thing I liked him in!
