Floyd Mayweather Jr. crushed Juan Miguel Marquez in a unanimous decision in their match at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Floyd showed his mastery over Mexico's triple world division champion with a flurry of offensive and defensive skills following a 21-months hiatus from boxing. Will Pacman Pacquiao suffer the same fate if he battles Pretty Boy Mayweather for the best pound-for-pound boxer title in their first meeting?

You don't compare apples and bananas. Definitely Marques is not Manny they are far way different in skills. In fact PBF has big advantage during that fight not only he is big his weight is above the agreed weight limit. He cheated that time that is why poor Marquez was eaten alive during that fight.Marquez was way to slow for PBF and smaller guy. But with Manny he is fast and getting bigger to match PBF.I can't wait to see this fight happen.

I agree with you Krypt.. Pretty Boy is such a lousy fighter but in fairness he is a good dancer in the ring. Where can you see a recognized pound for pound boxer dancing around a much smaller guy. It only shows what kind of stuff Mayweather has. If Pacman can dispose Cotto in their upcoming fight, then Mayweather should pack his bags and better change career as a dancing mascot..

i think Manny Pacquiao can handle Floyd Mayweather. he also crushed juan miguel marquez in a unanimous decision. manny pacquiao is fast and strong puncher. he can counter attack to his opponent when he is hit. and manny countered legend boxer and have a lot of experience in fighting. and he can handle mayweather jr..

Manny Pacquiao will have his hands full on his date with Floyd Mayweather. As of the moment, as published in some news dailies, Pacman was quoted "impressed" with Pretty Boy Mayweather's lopsided win over Marquez. Mayweather is a boxing tactician, a former Olympian if im not mistaken, while Pacquiao is a counter-puncher/brawler by his styles. It will be a great match to see once these two protagonists meet. It will also be a great challenge for Freddie Roach to come up with a flawless tactical plan against Mayweather. Pacquiao's wins came from almost brawlers/counter-punchers (i.e. Marquez, Hatton, Diaz, Morales, and many others)in the boxing industry. The first one of who will deliver the first decisive blow will win the match. Let's us watch first Pacquiao vs Cotto match this Nov. 14.

Manny Pacquiao already has his hands full with Miguel Cotto. Pacquiao is good but like I have said before Mayweather has very good boxing skills and his defense is great. Pacquiao will probly lose by decision unless he catches Floyd with a hard hit. I think Pacquiao needs to focus on Cotto because he is no joke. Cotto could easily KO Pacquiao. Pacquiao's defense is a question mark and if he could take Cotto's power then he could win but, I am going for Cotto and I think Miguel Cotto could win the fight.

I think Pacquiao can manage Mayweather, but as of now should focus his resources to Cotto because that's right, Cotto's not a big joke. He is definitely a stone in terms of firepower, with only one lose and a disputed lose to Margarito. But what astounds us is that Pacquiao is full of surprises and his adversaries, either drama or broken dreams. Remember Barrera? He shattered the man's chance to even bigger fame, at the time, Mexico's foremost fighter,a Chavez in the making. He destroyed Morales, Barrera's archnemesis. Marquez is the least damaged because he is a good technical fighter, a defensive one, but against Mayweather became cannon fodder. Remember that Pacquiao always got the notion that he is to be easily defeated here and there, and look where he is now. World renown and kind Oscar Dela Hoya, he forced and turned him into a monster, made him a man that is bent to tarnish ones reputation, a lesser kind of Mayweather-style talking. Dela Hoya is forced to say things like this and like that, and look where he had gotten into after the fight with Pacquiao, yup age does matter and he wholly embraced the reason, like a pillow. Ain't it shameful? There are lots of fighters who are aging but packs lots of firepower and some actually wins still, with Marquez for instance, and I'm sure he had it, he just can't handle Pacquiao, he should just accept it, with no strings attached. I loved Dela Hoya, but all changed when he slowly became like an antagonist. He should remember that almost many of Pacquiao's matches since Barrera, he is always seen as an underdog, a fighter who should lose because of his physique, and adversary's advantages. But boy did the Pacman wow us, always surprise us, defeat our predictions, for many a time, to the point non-boxer pips also watch the game, and in turn bring money to the sport of boxing. Where Dela Hoya left-off in moneymaking for the Boxing industry, Pacquiao picks it up.

nope! he can't catch mayweather and everytime he throw punches he will get caught. just like he did with marquez. my justifications are he is more talented, faster, bigger, stronger and has a good defence than pacquaio.

Even though Mayweather has taken that last 2 years off I think he'll be able to handle Pacquiao. Pacquiao is good and all and packs a pretty good punch Mayweather is just too fast for him. But it would still be a hell of a fight.
