that's a protective mechanism, they do it so others wouldn't eat them. My cats love hunting bugs, but after eating lady bug once, they don't touch them any more. The same works for most animals who try these bad tasting and smelling bugs.

That is why I don't try to crush those evil smelling cockroaches. They secrete those yucky thing from their inside. When I see them I don't stomped on them. I just shoo them away with a broom and sweep them out of the house hehe. They are full of germs eewwww. But to answer your bugging question, I don't know. Maybe its just how God has created them. Surely they have their own purpose why they smell bad hehe Ciao!

They smell like that as a defense. Most beings are smart enough to smell them and not to harm them, just let them goon their way. Nature made them like that.

The answer is almost the same as when you ask why does skunks smell so bad? The first comment was right it's all about their defense mechanism. An instinct of survival for them:)

Ah, the joys of natural defense mechanisms! I know that cockroach smell very well unfortunately and jeez it's disgusting. What I do wanna know though Mable is why the heck you're killing ladybugs? Ladybugs are cool!

hji riyasam oh dont kill ladybugs they are good bugs that eat the 'bug that ruin our food harvests.you should not kill them. roaches yes of course, they carrydieases. but ladybugs should not be killed, they usew ladybugs in some farms just to kill the bad bugs that eat the farmer's crops. As I dont believe in killing ladybuts Iwould not know why they smell horrible and I have killed roaches but dont stop and smell them. yuck.

Hello my friend riyasam Ji, WEll to get rid off cockroaches, I have following formule, which ZANDI458 circulatyed here :- http://www.pyroenergen.com/articles/roaches.htm# "How to Get Rid of Cockroaches the Easiest Way Cockroaches are crawling pests that normally breed in dark corners of the house, in drawers and drains. They not only bring diseases but they feed on anything that they can get hold of. They come out from their hiding place during the night to look for food in our kitchens and left their droppings everywhere. These cockroaches if not kept under control will infest our homes and become a health hazard to humans Here is the simple recipe that you can make in your own kitchen with ingredients costing a few dollars and that can last for a couple of years: 1. Boric acid (powdered form)= 250 grams (8.8 oz.) 2. Onion liquefied (without water) in a blender= 200 grams (7 oz.) 3. Starch= 20 grams (0.7 oz.) 4. Wheat flour (bread and cake purpose)= 20 grams (0.7 oz.) 5. Powdered milk= 25 grams (5 tsp.) 6. Sugar= 30 grams (1 oz.) Place all the above ingredients into a plastic bowl, and then mix them well. Place an old newspaper on the floor, either on your yard or in the garage and pour all the wet ingredients onto it and let it sit the whole night. In the morning, you will find that it has dried up somewhat to the point where you can make a small fingernail-sized balls from it. You can place these balls under the sink, around the drainage pipes, in your garage, storage areas or wherever cockroaches live. In a matter of three days to a week, you won't see cockroaches anymore. So where did they go? They are no longer in your house. They will be dehydrated by boric acid. They will be dried up. Try it. A dollar can keep your home free from roaches. I myself do not have any roaches in my house for so many years. Junji Takano is a Japanese health researcher involved in investigating the cause of many dreadful diseases. I get this formula from one of his books." May God bless You both and have great time.

I would never touch a cockroach with my hands. I euther kill them by putting my foot (with shoes) on them or I sray them and them throw them away with a broom. Even some good things to eat have strong smells when you are preparing them. That is enough for me. I hate to clean chicken but it must be gone. So I leave those hard times for than and don´t mess with xockroaches. As for ladybugs, I wouldn´t hurt them. So if one is near me, I shoo her to the garden. Happy posting!
