My big stomach

Since i have had six children as well as a hysterectomy i have gained a bit of a stomach i have lost a stone so all i want to do is loose my stomach now.A friend of mine told me todo sit ups as in ten in the morning then ten at night,what do you think.

Hi Jugsjugs. Sit-ups, more commonly known these days as crunches, can certainly tighten the stomach muscles. I would search online for diagrams that show how to do them properly first, so that you do not hurt your back or your neck in the process. However, they do not tighten loose skin. That just comes with the territory of having had children and aging, as I well know! But as I said, I do know that crunches work to tighten the muscles, hence making the tummy smaller and firmer in that sense. Best wishes, Karen

After I had my twins, my Dr suggested I do pilates or yoga. Also to alternate some cardiovascular exercises. It worked for me.

If you check out the videos on youtube, there are many. They have instructors who guide you through. You can just type in stomach excercises, and you will find many that help.

I think that is hooey. Remember you asked. You need to do 35 crunches in the morning and at night and take a walk. Do you drink pop? Well, stop it! Do you drink a gallon and a half of water a day? Well, do so! Do you eat salty, sugary foods. Stop it! Get my point? Good!

Sit-ups sounds like a great plan to me....oh and...don't have any more children, might be a wise decision as well. (-smile-) :-) cdrxo

yes i guess your friend is right though a lot says the sit ups didnt work anymore. try to cut off food with a lot of carbo like rice coz its also one reason to have a big stomach. though if you have children then you really cant avoid having a big stomcah. im scared too lol. i used to have flat stomach ever since and im afraid it will change since im pregnant right now i dont know what to do to maintain my flat tommy after giving birth or if theres maitainance or things to do while still pregnant.
