Is the Blu-Ray Player Really That Much Better Compared To Just DVD Players?

I've never watched a movie on Blu-Ray. Is the TV Image really much better? I do know you can have much more memory on a Blu-Ray Disc.

I have never used a Blue-Ray disc player before. I am not sure if it is any better or not. I have heard that is alot better though from taking surveys about them online. I only use a regular DVD player.

It is better I guess but I honestly can't see a major difference. The colors are truer and things are more detailed but for something like, say, Super Troopers there just isn't a whole lot of improvement. If you're watching something like Transformers or the new HD nature documentaries then the difference is more noticeable. We only got one because it had a promotional price when we bought our new TV but I could definitely live without it.

I've never even seen a blu-ray disk or player, so I wouldn't know. Why do they keep putting out new technology relatively soon after interdocing other technology? I just caught up with a DVD player (actually it's a drive on my laptop) and now they want a friggen blu-ray? What's up with that?
