I've been wanting to go back to school for some time now and the timing is right, right now for me, or at least I think it is. My two older kids are out on their own, going to school, working and raising their little families, my youngest who has been having a really hard time in school is going to a new school and seems to like it and is doing better than he ever has. I want to get into nursing and I'm going through the testing and everything to get started but I think I'm starting to let the fear of new things get to me. Are there any kind of fears you had going back that were something you really didn't need to worry about that were no big deals?

That will be great if you can go back to school and learn a profession like nursing. I have a fear of alot of things too, especially these days with all of the new technology. I think you will learn it and do well with it though. Just try to put your fears aside and try it out.

My daughter stopped in today while I was talking to a couple of schools on the phone and she got on her phone and started making calls for me herself. I asked why she was doing that and she said that I've always pushed her to do what she wanted to do but was afraid to and it was time for her to push me. lol....she won't let me stop now!!

Wish You The Best .. - Nursing Is A Good Profession ..
Ok .. That's Really Nice .. I Think You Do Enjoy Nursing Do Have A Good Time Studying That .. Wish You The Very Best .. As For Me I Would Certainly Not Want to Study Again, As Exams Scare Me .. So I Think It's Better Avoided .. Do Have A Good Day ..

I've come to the conclusion that sitting behind a desk for long periods of time is not really for me, I want to get a job doing something I like and where I won't be sitting down 8-12 hours a day. School is my best option.

When I went back to college in January 2 years ago, I was terrified. I didn't think I could make the grades, yet in September of that year, I was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society. I had a 3.71 grade point average. I went to summer school, took 5 classes over the summer terms, and didn't make anything but "A's" in those classes.

I went back to school in 1991 after being out for sixteen years. I didn't start to panic until I walked in the school building. I was like a dog when you take him to the vet, lol. I wanted to back out the door. I didn't, though. It was just the sights and the smells that scared me I guess. It brought back memories of taking tests and I always hated tests! I always worried about whether I would do well or not. I mainly wanted to take computer courses because I knew that was what everything was going to. I remember one night when I guess I was studying, my chest started hurting. It took the longest for it to quit hurting. It was then that I realized that I needed to stop worrying so much and try to relax. I have MVP, anyway, and acid reflux. It's because of these problems that my chest tends to hurt sometimes. I was under a lot of stress at the time and that didn't help much, either. Good luck in your schooling and I hope your nursing career goes well. Kathy.

So did you end up doing well and finishing? Thanks for your comment, it's good to know it's not 'just me' and someone else was having the same kind of dilemma.

Oh!! Well in that case....can you do my nails? I think it's getting around that time for me to get them done again!! My sister is an STNA and likes it, she wants to take up nursing, maybe I should make her do it with me!!

I did well. However, I hate to say this, but I didn't finish. I just got tired of studying all the time. I never did like school, anyway. I did end up going back to school in 1994, however. I went through JTPA and trained to be a nursing assistant. I finished school this time. That job didn't work out, though. I went back to school in 1995 and I trained to be a Nail Technician. I really enjoyed this class and I really enjoyed doing nails. Kathy.
