http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/6223907/Duct-taped-cat-saved-1000-reward-offered-in-animal-abuse-case.html If you live in or near the Rhawnhurst area of Philadelphia PA, keep your eyes & ears open for some sick, sick basterd. Somebody who clearly needs help...or a noose!!! Somebody took a loving, trusting female cat & wrapped her in duct tape, dumping her in the garden of a Rhawnhurst home. From the picture it appears that one leg on the front & on the back was left partially unwrapped so the sicko could get some cheap thrill from watching the cat try to walk. They even wrapped the tail. Fortunately a lady passing by saw the cat & took it to the local humane society where they removed the tape piece by piece. Unless I missed it, the article doesn't mention how much fur the cat lost in this process. Fortunately, the sicko didn't wrap the poor cat's head. The humane society taking in the poor creature has offered a $1,000 reward. Now that she is unwrapped, her caregivers say she is once again purring & loving on those who helped her. I think she knows her life was saved & is happy that she was spared. What could possibly be going through the mind of someone who would even think of doing such a thing to a poor trusting cat??? I can't in my strangest thoughts begin to imagine such a thought process. Personally, I think if ever found, this person should be hung NOW before they change their target to a trusting human!!! What are your thoughts???

Hi LadyM, I saw thi dicussion yeaterday and yes I agree with you , the NOOSE is far to quick for them, I think the country need to have some sort of prison for young youths and made to do horrible thing like hard and respect, also they should have duct tape put in their hair to see how they feel like it, I get so very when I heard things like this done to animals. The air here is Blue at the moment. Tamara

I think I could take my time skinning them...slowly...very slowly. People like that are chickens who will NEVER face who or what they plan to attack. They got away with the cat, next will be a child or somebody's grandmother. My guess is that it's a smart azz teenager who think they are being kewl. WRONG!!! I hope the owner found their baby & took her back to a loving home. I've heard nothing else about it. Maybe Lori knows???

Hopefully, whoever did this despicable thing has friends who are less than trustworthy and will turn him/her in for the reward money. I wish it was more than that but, still, $1,000.00 might make someone who knows this inhuman monster turn him in. That is despicable. I am so happy to hear that a good samaritan rescued this kitty and took it right away to the humane society. Any human who could do anything like that to a defenseless animal should have some jail time to sit and think about how awful that act was.

Probably some kids who have never been brought up to have any respect for anything whatsoever. It seems to me that there are far to many peopl like that these days. I agree with you, it'll only be a matter of time before these sickos graduate from torturing a cat to torturng a helpless child.

"Helpless" is the key word here. If you notice, they ALWAYS go for the "helpless" because they aren't man/woman enough to take on somebody/something that might fight back!!!

I think the creeps should be given the same treatment as they gave the cat--but left that way until they die. It's astonishing and awe inspiring how forgiving and loving animals are. We humans don't deserve them.

Good thing that I'm not the one that will find them...I could skin them alive. Does that make me as sick as them???

This is truly sad, I think the human race is going backwards. We are all starting to hate everyone and everythung. Ever notice how easy it is to start and arguement these days? And then things get nasty, even on this board.

Yes, I've noticed. Tempers flare around here very easily lately. It's sad, but what can we do??? I try to count to 10 before reacting. Sometimes it works, some times it doesn't.

Where do these people even get these ideas from in the first place? Seriously, how would it ever cross your mind to abuse an animal this way? To what end? Sick, sick, sick! It has been proven than almost all criminals that harm another human being started their "career" by torturing or killiing defenseless animals. It is like they are practicing for their ultimate goal of doing the same or worse to a person. These are very frightening, yet very real, statistics. If I were anywhere near that neighbourhood, I would keep a very, very close eye on my pets and my children. Criminals very often come back to the same area and seek further victims.

You are so correct!!! I cannot imagine the thought process of ANYONE who could think like that!!! I don't know that they are thinking of what they will do in the future, but they most definitely predisposed to graduating to abusing humans. People like that always have to brag about what they've done. I just pray that somebody they've bragged to needs that $1,000 & turns them in!!!
