If you can be part of a medical mission, in what way will you want to help in that mission. If you are in medical fields, but still they will welcome any one would like to help, what help you can offer? I know that in medical mission that we are not getting paid, but we are provided i think for food and free transporation. They will of course provide the vehicle to be used for that. So let us start off, can you be the volunteer driver. Can you be the one who can help out in carrying heavy baggages. OR the ones who can cook for food so that you can save from expenses specially for long assignments in some far off places where you will be just staying on tents to reach for those people in some remote areas of your country. I know it is such a hard work to be in medical mission. it is a sacrifice but it can be an adventure too. Some medical mission here are not for medical help only, they are there for some counselling. some financial assistance, and some they extend their help in building homes, but i guess that will be a different mission already or they will set up a different time for that or they can do that at the same time with medical mission to save trip. if that is the case can you volunteer as a carpenter

I have been a part of a medical mission back in college. We are not actually medicine students but education students. Our professor in Community Immersion gave us a project. The project is about giving or extending our help to the community. It happened that my group mate's husband is a Medical Representative so we decided to just conduct a medical mission. It was a tough job since we have to ask for some sponsors such as pharmaceutical companies to help us with the free medicines. But then everything is worthwhile especially after the mission wherein you were able to see the people whom you were able to help.

it is really great way to help our people. i have not been part of it yet. but i hope i can one day when my schedule allows me to do so. i think that people needing help in some way hope for some medical mission from time to time specially when calamities hit them. and this is what keeps them to have hope in their lives and keep going if there are some good people around willing to help out other people in times of need. good news like this, somewhat refresh the soul of people and gives them renew strength to live their lives again.

Yes, I agree. Especially here in the Philippines where a lot of people cannot afford to go to a doctor for check up. They would really grab opportunities like these. I just hope there will still a lot to follow.

I have been a volunteer in a in Red cross in my city. I am assigned to gives relief goods to evacuees and sometimes sorting of all the donated items and pack it in a plastic bags. All members have their own food delivers from donors/benefactors and it is pack lunch. Then, also done extra activities like taking the blood pressure, attending basic life support and cardi-pulmonary resuscitation training as parts of my health training courses. It is a great feelings to lend a hand to volunteer without asking for payment. The feeling is more on self fulfillment rather than on selfish ideals.
