Hi Amyson I don't think any of us like the idea of surgery, but I've had to have a few in my lifetime. One was an emergency surgery, which was okay by me. It had to be done so quickly, I didn't have to sit around and work up a fright about it! Karen

yes many of us afraid of being operated.well,if in case of emergency i have the fear and nervous since if the doctor said you need to be operated now.i just very scared and i have my second thoughts to ask the doctor if it ok to have it schedule or not?if the doctor said it is ok nothings to worry about then it is fine with me.but i still consider my mother decision about if they willing me to be operated.

Yes, Amy, you are very wise to think about asking these questions of the dr. and getting advice from your parents! Have a beautiful day! Karen

No I'm not afraid anymore to be operated. When I was a kid I have stitches because I'm accident prone kid that time. My right foot was been operated because of the mass and I can't walk properly anymore because it is swollen. It is only minor surgery but if I undergo a major surgery I think I going to be scared at first. If you have faith in God He going to help and make you safe in your operation.

I would feel afraid but I still like to proceed for the reasons that it is the only way i could get out the pain from long suffering. If it is the only way I could get rid of my illnesses. I would go for the operation. Anyway their are now anesthesia or you could go to sleep before the surgery so that you could not feel the pain. Before surgery i would like to pray to God first and ask for His guide to take care of me during the operation to be successful.

Hello amy, I have been through 3 major operations(3 ceasarian).I don't feel scared at all, maybe becoz i trusted my doctor and i trusted God.I always pray hard before each operation. So,i guess,if i will go through an immediate operation,it won't scare me at all.I just hope that it will be a successful one coz,sometimes...rushed or immediate operation would be too risky compared to a prepared or scheduled operation. UHMNN...i don't like to undergo any operation with GOD's grace. Have a good Sunday my friend.

First of all weigh out all the facts and options. You have absolutely no idea if the doctor is trying to pay off his boat, or if you actually need the surgery. Now in most cases it is the latter. Most american doctors are honest and not corrupt. With the training that takes place in order to produce some the world's smartest people called doctors, surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, etc., there is little to worry about. Ask yourself and several trusted doctors/educated persons if the surgery is necessary. Think about it.

Also remember those people who are operating on you spend years and years of their life in school (anesthesiologists spend 10-15 years in school).
