Yesterday I went shopping with my friends and buy a lot of clothes and articles in winter just in case the price goes up in the following months. I carried all variety of bags while coming home with satisfaction, but the cost ends up not very high as every articles did not cost too much. Nowadays I found that my consuming concept changed. In previous days, I loved to pursuit the brand name clothes or brand name furniture, but Nowadays I prefer the mudium cost items that I can afford. How about you? Do you like to buy the brand name articles as it symbolizes the taste or do you like to buy the off-brand name items for cost sake? Or do you prefer to use the brand name for some special items?

Hello Sasa. Like you, in the interest of saving money and still getting quality clothing, I shop for medium or clearance priced items that are NOT brand name. They look as good, fit as well, last as long as any of the brand names I bought as a younger woman. Thrift shops are another way to go. There, you can sometimes buy the brand names many teens seem to love, but for a lot less money. I cannot justify the extra expense one has to pay just to wear a "label." Karen

I understand what you mean. The first time I bought a really expensive sweater, I washed it exactly according to instruction, and it ended up with those little "pill balls" on it anyway!

Yeah, many of the items that are labeled as the brand is not equal to quality. I remember one year ago, I spend a high cost $300 on the browse, the flash texture sticking on the browse are all dropped off. From that time on, I will not shop for the brand name clothes with such a cost, which makes me so distressed. Thrift shops are good way to go if we have the shops here. LOL.

I buy off-label stuff at actual stores, because these days you can get nice stuff that's cheaper. That said, I do look on Ebay for the designers I really like, and I can often find affordable items there. Most of my closet is off-label, and the few designer items I have were bought on Ebay for much less than they are worth. You can get something on Ebay that was worn once or twice very cheaply.

I love to browse the design cloth from the internet but I seldom bought it from the Ebay as I am concerned the scam there. And one of my friends were deceived by buying a camera there as the price on the net is much cheaper than the real market

I totally understand that concern. The way I avoid worrying about this is to limit what I spend there. If I buy something for eleven dollars, and it turns out to be a problem, I'll only have lost a small amount. I don't think I have ever paid more than $30 on and Ebay item because of the concern you mentioned...I have been very lucky, though, and have never been scammed. But I would never buy a piece of expensive electronic equipment on Ebay.

When it comes to clothes, for me, the price has to be right. And it has to fit right. Brand name clothing doesn't necessarily mean that it will fit me the best - and quite often it doesn't. Preferably I like to pay for less expensive clothing because I change my tastes a lot (and don't want to spend an arm and a leg!). I take it a step further and buy a lot from thrift shops. You can actually get some nice brand name stuff there is you look (and for cheap), but it won't be as current. Most people think I spend a lot on clothes, but I really don't. So if they don't know the difference, then that's cool with me!

We do have a common on the shopping. I love to shop all variety of bazarre clothes and some kind of plain clothes, and match the style of mine once I would like to hang out. It is great to put all taste of clothes full of your wardrobe and different matching would casue different feeling. In this way, I surely would not like to buy the brand name, as the brand name closthes is too expensive to afford with a large variety of it.

There are very few things I buy that have to be brand name. That's probably only because they are brands i grew up with such as Kraft, Hellmans and Coca Cola. Otherwise, I do a lot of off-brand shopping. The quality is usually very similar but the price can be better. When it comes to clothing there's no special brand name that I have to have.

I think sometimes we just go with the brands we are familiar with. I think this is true of both males and females.

I find a funny phenomenon that males would prefer the brand name items always, for instance, male loved to use the shoe brand like Adidas. It is true that male doesn't pursuit the variable design so that they will buy the brand name to spend the money:)

It's great shopping without spending too much fortune, isn't it? I am not a brand minded person as I do believe good quality doesn't always come with a famous brand. I still look for the quality though, if it's good and cheap enough why should you pay more? I often find those kind of things in clothings. Last week I bought cute maternity clothes with relatively cheap price. They are not branded, but the fabric is very soft. I got compliments from my friends and they thought I bought them in some luxury boutiques lol. It is actually depends on how good you are in choosing lol. But as for shoes or any other footwear, I wouldn't gamble. Until now I can't find cheap shoes with good quality. The pricy ones always rules in footwear world.

I agree. If the items did not cost too much and the quality is good, I will check out immediately and not care for the brand name. But traditionally people will think that brand name article is labeled as a qualified one. For the shoes, it is quite true that the branded ones are more comfortable than the off-brand name. I will choose the brand name shoes to buy as I always wear the high-heal shoes.

I buy a mixture of both. It all depends on the quality. Not all brand name articles are of high quality and equally, not all unknown brands are of poor quality. I buy brand names when they are on sale and I'm usually a season behind when it comes to the styles. That does not matter. They often come back. On the other hand, I buy off-brands if I like the material and the style. I can also test to see if they are worth buying, if the quality is good. Often, we are just paying for the name and it turns out to be a poor value producr.

While shopping, I care about the quality of the goods rather than the brand name. Even I try not to buy a brand named item which is obviously more expensive but may be not better off than an anonymous item.

If the band name item and off-brand name item are not much difference on the cost, I surely prefer the brand name as least there is quality concern in most of the time. Normally I will choose the medium and qualified items even it is an anonymous ones.

I have never been addicted to name brand things, thank goodness. They just cost so much and I can't justify the expense when something that looks almost the same costs so much less. And in my own personal experience, the name brand does not hold up and last longer than the off brand items. Now for some food items, I will buy name brand but mostly, off brand is fine. In today's financial times and there being no money to spend, we don't get to buy much anyway so we have to stretch it as far as possible and that means no name brands for our family.

Even though I love to buy branded stuff of reputed fashion designers, I am not able to buy them, because of their high prices. Particularly the internationally famous brands are quite expensive, and it is out of my sight. I do not even window shop at these places, and I usually go for the branded stuff only when it is on a sale. I usually go in for the off brand stuff which is available in plenty nowdays.

It is quite a wise consuming concept while buying the branded stuff on sales. I will choose the brand article if the cost is worthy of it.

I don't pay any attention to the brand names, except for the ones that I really like because they fit me the best. These are usually the "store brands" anyway, which don't cost as much as the real brand names. I usually look at the style or color and pattern of something to decided whether or not I like it, and then I look at the price. If both are pleasing, then I will try it on, if it is an article of clothing, to make sure that it fits properly before I decide whether or not I want to buy it.

I am not a brand name buyer person. I buy what looks good on me. I find that if you buy what looks good on you and the right accessories you can make the look happen for you. I do not have a lot of money, but I can mix and match nicelooking outfits and stand out on any occasion. It not the price of the outfit many times. It's the way you feel about yourself. A smile and a good attitude can make or break your looks.

You are expert on matching your dressing style, uh, it is quite important to dress at your own style. In some sense, I find that it is very hard to be your style if you dressed the brand name. It is known that the brand name clothes is famous for the quality only rather the design. I love the off-brand design more.

Hello, Sasalove, It depends, when it comes to clothes, except the stly, I concern the price a lot. Sometimes, a simple dress can cause one third to half of my monthly salary, I am surely not going to buy it, while sometimes, it's on sales, I feel the price is quite nice, I may get it. As for food and appliance, I usually consider the brand first.
