so does anyone else follow this show. the new season started last week, and it was a pretty great start to the season too. and of course there is a new nemesis on the loose, the reaper. i do so hope that they catch him sometime soon, so that hotch can be reunited again with his family.

Hi mama_bear, I really enjoy watching Criminal Minds but I missed the season opener last week! I was really disappointed but I'm getting the scoop as to what happen online. I love the way the agents "profile" their cases and the criminals. Some of the best scenes are when the local law enforcements are upset that the "Feds are taking over" and they don't believe in the "profile nonsense" and then Hotch or someone else will profile that person right down to the color socks they are wearing! I hope they catch the Reaper too.

I enjoy the "profile" process as well. That's the show time of profilers, I like it. Sometimes I just wondered in reality FBI really has these agents profilers. If it does, it'll be very very wonderful. And of course the best thing is no killer, no profiler needed.

yeah the profilers are definitely there. and they enter all the info plus like the evidence at crime scenes into a database called VICAP (violent criminal apprehension program) this is what helps them to catch serial killers and it was introduced i think in the 80's and other law enforcement agencies share this same program. the feds designed it to help catch repeat offenders. this way if a crime it encountered the enforcement agency can look up the details on the database and see if a similar crime has occured elsewhere. if not for the feds there would be no linked network for everyone to use.

Hi GaryJoule, I think that there are agents that profile for the FBI but I don't know if they have an actual "Behavorial Unit" (BAU). Whether the real life agents are as accurate as Criminal Minds is a question, but of course it is a tv show! And you are right, the best answer would be "no killer, no profiler".

I have watched it every season, and I was actually disappointed with the start of this season. I don't know after the last two seasons, which were amazing, I was just a little let down. Not a whole lot of excitement for me. Hopefully this week will be better.

i think that it will pick up, at least no one was killed off and this new villain is pretty twisted, i mean really who stabs themselves like that!?

yeah i am quite sure there may have been others, but bear in mind that he used to use his son as bait. once his son left it was probably not as easy as before. and then he got old, and him being opposite a school was well creepy. i am glad that hotch let that guy shoot him in the end.

Last nights episode was awesome, except for one small thing. The father who was a pedophile, and child killer, just stopped killing after he let his son go at the orphanage. This is highly unlikely, and probably were more victims. It did not seem realistic since they did not even propose this possibility.

forensic science is fascinating. makes me more paranoid and aware than i previously was. it makes you more aware of those that are around you.

I love it! I don't think I've ever missed an episode of it. I like all the characters. I love the interplay between Shemar Moore's character and their computer hacker chick. At first I found the show almost too intense, they have a lot more psychologically taxing plots than most of the crime shows. Disturbing material. But I did get used to it. I'm looking forward to a new season!

yeah i love their banter. i also love her eccentricity and he is just way too pretty. what makes him even hotter is the fact that in real life he totally loves his mother to bits. they are so cute.

In the past seasons every agent except Hotch has been unveiled some background such as Reid, Morgen, Emily... This season it's turn to happening something on Hotch. Till now Hotch has not any bad grow-up background unveiled he's very clear yet. I'm afraid some unexpected history background on Hotch will exposure soon. Scriptwriter is cruel, we have to face it.

This show is awesome. I follow it every week. The characters have a lot of depth. The plots twist and turn and no two shows ever feel the same. They have some really great writers. I loved it when Hotch looked right at the reaper and told him - I'm no scared of you.

I like it but only get to see it in rerun season because of conflicts with other shows I prefer over it. I didn't see the new season opener.
