Quirky things our pets do

I was just wonderin what kind of goofy habits your pets have. My cat has a couple goofy things she does. One thing---she likes laying on things; phone, remote, book, etc. She will sit next to me on the couch and just stare at me, until I put something down on the couch for her to lay on. Usually it's my book because I always carry that around wherever I go. Another funny thing about my cat is...she doesn't like milk...but she does like spagetti and french fries...lol. Share your funny pet habits please!! :)

Well my cat is eccentric and we often ask if he's a Brit? I mean that in a good way of course because I love Brits, and find them to be very cool. :) Well, my cat Furball, or sometimes I call him King Furball, will also lie on anything you put near him, and loves to put his paw on my mouse while I'm typing, will then walk all around you and stand in front of my computer screen blocking me and rub against me. What else...Well he's a little weirdo that doesn't like to eat alone and will stare at you walking downstairs as if to say "follow me". I'll be at his cat bowl and he'll eat away happily staring at me, sometimes I'll even feed him from the spoon. Isn't that nuts? Anyway, if I walk away from the bowl, then he stops eating? Also he likes to play soccer with any kind of little ball like a marble and especially loves plums for kicking them in the air. It's the funniest thing but he'll be playing soccer with them for maybe 10 minutes (long time for any cat), and once he sees us laughing at him, the playing immediately stops, he gives us the evil eye because he can't stand being laughed at. As for food well he likes his whiskers mixed with hard food. Oh and we have to keep any coffee away from him because he goes nuts if there's even a tbsp of coffee in someone's mug - just loves the stuff. Otherwise he's very sweet, doesn't like to be alone and will follow you from room to room to just hang out with you. Unfortunately, though he doesn't like being picked up or kissed, but I never care I kiss him anyway just to see that evil look from him! lol

lol, my cat doesn't like being alone either (unless she's sleeping)...she'll follow me everywhere, although she doesn't always like going upstairs, I dont know why. My cat also likes to walk over my laptop and try to lay on it while I'm using it! lol they don't want to have any attention taken from them, especially by technology! :P Do you have one of those little laser lights that cats (and dogs) like to chase around? OMG, it is so funny to watch! And my cats dont mind us laughing at them while they chase that around :D lol You cat likes coffee!?!? Oh boy! Cats do not need any thing to make them more hyper! lol

OMG I almost forgot to mention but little Furby actually has a girlfriend that comes to visit him. I kid you not. She's this adorable grey/blk cat that looks a bit like a jaguar. Well she comes by every day as if to say hello, and they stare into each other's eyes and rub noses! It's the cutest thing!

My dog has a couple of things he does. When he needs to go outside and use the bathroom. He will sit staring at the door with his favorite stuffed animal in his mouth. When he knows I am about to leave he will go and hid his head either under a piece of furniture or under a bunch of pillows. I guess he thinks if he can't see me I won't see him and then he won't have to go into his crate

Aww, my dogs love their toys too :P They have mostly chew bones, ropes, and balls though--I dont want them mistaking one of my stuffed animals for their own :P lol At first when I read that he hid under pillows I thought, "aww, he's pouting because he doesn't want you to go!" THEN I read the word CRATE and I was like...OH! Nevermind...he's hiding! :P lol

I guess my dog Sam just isn't smart enough to tell the difference between our stuff and his! lol. He just wants it all! :P He's chewed up a lot of my stuff..., shoes, a large teddy bear I got from my Grandmother who passed away (he got in big trouble for that one). But I still

He knows which are his stuffed animals, I have a few around the house. When I bring a new in if I don't want him to have it I tell him leave it and then he won't go back to it unless I point to it and say ok. The same thing at my homes house because she collects teddy bears. He knows he has a few there and the rest are off limits. He has always been real good about only taking what were his

One of my pets are pair of Australian Parakeeths named POLY & MITTOO, Poly will always have fun with her husband Mittoo. She somehow learnt the trick of opening and closing the cage door, which is extremely difficult for Mittoo. Poly will open the door and come out of the cage, and immediately close the door so that she alone can freekout out of the cage. Poor mittoo will look at her spouse with anxiety and jealous.

i've got a horse who looks at you ears back and really nasty as if shes going to bite you. all she wants is a pat/cuddle, enough to scare people off who aren't into or keen on horses. my mums whippet just loves coming with me when i ride the horse, he's grown up with the horses and loves to trot along with me within 2 foot now of the horses legs, rather annoying at times when you want to do something. my cat also growls about being picked up and held, even thou she been handled since birth. my dog also whinges when your talking and she not getting attention.

Ooo it would make me nervous, having a dog trotting next to me while I was riding. I'd be worrying about the dog the whole time lol...and probably not going too fast :P Honestly, if a horse did that too me I might not immediatly go up to pet him either. But if an owner or handler told me he wouldn't hurt me then I would trust them and go visit the horse! :) When my dog wants her bone thrown for her...she'll bring it to you and drop it in your lap, or on your leg..and if you ignore her she keeps STARING at you and scratces on your leg. lol

I know what you mean about our cats not liking milk. My cats REFUSE to drink it. I'm not sure why, though, because I thought ALL cats like milk. *shrugs*.One funny thing that I can think of is how both of my cat's Missy & Dainty lay down - they don't curl up into a little ball - but they totally sprawl out and lay on their sides. It's so.. un-cat-like!

I thought my cat was the only bizarro who didn't like milk! lol. I told my nieces )ages 6 and 8) that my cat didn't like milk and they made faces and said, "what!? I thought all cats like milk!" lol My cat likes sleeping curled up, but the other 2 in the house lay sprawled out too! lol. They love stretching in the sun

Our cat is obsessed with pipe cleaners... he isn't really into a lot of cat toys, but freaks out when he sees a pipe cleaner and will chase it all over the house for hours. He also has this little cat tunnel that he will sit and stare at, then all of a sudden do a superman dive into it. Sometimes he dives with such force that the tunnel will slide across the floor into something, which scares him and he freaks out again and runs away making laps through the house. Animals are so funny to watch sometimes.

Your cat doesn't like those foods, because she can get very ill from them. Never give her chocolate, or diet things, they are deadly. So are some flowers. My cat hides all my personal things, like a pack rat. She also gets into the strangest places. One time she was meowing, and I could not find her. I tracked her down to the pot closet, to find her in a large pot with the cover on.

Oh I would never try to give my cat, or any animal, chocolate! lol my cats don't hide things...but they will get hold of our laundry, drag it around and yowl...usually it's a sock lol....(That's where our socks disappear too! It's not the dryers fault!) lol LOL! My cats used to get into the cupboards, but they never managed to trap themselves inside a pot!!! :P We had those baby locks put on all our low cupboards so the cats couldnt open them anymore ;P

Timus likes tomatoes, he'll even lick salsa from the bowl after the roomie was done with it (pre diet) and I've had lots of cats like spaghetti sauce. Jool likes a number of veggies, but the champion veggie cat I ever had was Mekon. I don't eat broccoli stalks, he once pulled one off the plate, growling at the other cats who looked at him like he'd lost his mind. He'd beg for fresh tomatoes, and cantaloupe, he loved that! One day we had a friend over and the former roomie was cooking fries in her "Fry Baby" and we were giving Mekon a fry once in a while. Finally he got one, chewed on it, and spit it out and went back to begging. The friend pointed at the fry and Mekon sniffed it, even picked it up again, and spit it out again. "What's wrong with that one?" she asked him. "Oh, I said, he's mouthed it already." That broke us all up - no idea where "mouthed it" came from!

I have known (& had) cats with odd tastes. Elic, fellow MyBotter here, had a cat that used to beeEEEeeeg for avocado every time I cut one open. I'd give her a sliver, she'd sniff it, then walk away with the sort of disdain on her backside which only a cat can master, as if to say, "C'mon, that's not what I smelled! Where are you hiding the good stuff?" After a few of these attempts to let her try it, I scolded her, saying, "No you don't! Avocados aren't cheap! I'm not gonna waste any more on you!" But the next time I cut one open, there she was, mewing pitifully, "Oh pleeeeeze please Aunt Magpie please please PLEEEEEEZE let me have it!" I started to say no again, but then it hit me: I don't like these either 'til I salt them! Armed with this brilliant grokking of her mind, I salted a sliver & gave it to her, and--SLURP! I swear she vacuumed it up the way dogs do, & turned those big eyes on me again, & they were saying, "YES! FINALLY! The GOOD stuff!! More?" I had to laugh, but I gave her a few more tiny salted bits. One, it IS expensive, & two, too much salt wouldn't have been good for her. She wasn't the only cat I knew with weird tastes. Among others, I had one who loved meatless spaghetti sauce, & another who loved potatoes in any form, even raw, as well as green beans. Go figure! Maggiepie "WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE?"

Before I would agree about dogs eating anything and everything...but my weirdos have some actual edible things they wont eat lol. Grapes, banana...a lot of fruit they don't like. Maybe it's just that I dont really like the taste of green beans that I dont think they have a strong taste. Maybe it is strong just not yummy to me lol. I can eat green beans if I put salt on them, but they just aren't my faves. I don't eat garlic so I doubt it would help! hehe. But you are lucky that vampires won't go near you! I'm jealous, vampires are scary! lol I've never had eggplant, and I'll probably never try it lol. Some of the veggies I do like are... asparagus, brocolli, okra, corn...there are a lot of fruits and veggies I eat, and a lot I dont lol.

I think dogs are actually totally oblivious to what they eat. As with goats, they'll eat anything! I once knew a dog that ate through a tree trunk, & a wooden ladder, among other things. If you pour beef broth on cardboard, they'll devour it before they even stop to notice it's not food! Anyway, I love green beans--& even canned can be made palatable if you add garlic (no vampires would ever come near me! ). I disagree about the flavor. It's very strong, to me. Usually I love strong-tasting foods, strongly-spiced, & while green beans are much milder than they, to me something such as rutabagas (ugh) or cauliflower tend to be far more bland. Must just be different taste buds, I guess. The only vegetable I really hate to eat--& even it has its moments--is eggplant. All but about 3 ways to fix it make it taste (& feel!) inedible. Not only has it a nasty flavor unless one prepares it very carefully, most of the dishes even make it feel as though I'm chewing on rubber erasers! I get the same icky feeling as when I try to chew chicken gizzards; they just seem to get bigger & bigger in my mouth! UGH! Maggiepie "WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE?"

My dog is such a dork. Usually on a nice day when I am out doing yard stuff he gets sooooo happy. I mean to the point he starts gyrating around on the ground making these happy growl noises....I swear the dog has terrot's (msp?) But he makes me laugh all the time....also when Hootie and the blowfish songs come on I get him to dance because he is named Hoodie after all.....

I have told my dogs before that I wish they ate grass...cause then they could help me keep the lawn mowed....I have a big yard..but then again it helps me stay trim that way...while they lay around and watch me mow....They are horribly spoiled.

my dog is a husky cross, he loves to run and jump into the rivers that run to the sea, and any other brook or creek he can find, but what he won't do is go out if its raining (unless he cant cross his legs any longer!!) then he will run out as quickly as possible then scoot straight back in, he also has to walk around puddles, so he doesn't get his little tootsies wet! plus he wont sit if the ground is damp and muddy he sort of just crouches! but i love him ;)

My Emma Sue, she is a Golden Retriever, she loves to play with her stuffed toys. She also likes chewing on her raw hide bones. I have a Christmas bell on the back door that she rings when she has to go outside. I trained her to do that. So, I have the bell on the doorknob always. In case she really has to go outside and I don't know it. Every once and awhile, I will see her laying on her back with her legs up in the air. One paw over her face. It makes me laugh. She is almost like a human though. She farts and burps like a human! She is a funny little girl!

lol! she is so cute, I love her picture on your avatar! :D You taught her to ring a bell to let you know she has to go potty! Nice! My dog has developed a very bad recent habbit of taking a pee EVERYWHERE in the house. I was the last one defending she'd still be able to stay inside our home, but it's now gone beyond acceptable and she'll have to learn how to live in the yard now.

Uh oH! Is your dog young or old? My old retriever has started to have accidents in the house--but only when no one is there to let her out (she has to go more now in her old age)...but she always asks to go out first, and if someone IS home and doesn't see her...well, she finds a place in the house to do her business! It's not her fault so we don't blame her too much! Maybe you should talk to a vet, sometimes animals will pee more like that if they have a bladder infection! Not to worry you, but might be a possibility! Esk!

My pet have so many goofy things done. My cats do like to lay on things like newspaper and books. They like to lay on the things that I presently use . I remember one time I was reading newspaper and one of my cat came to me just looking . I thought she was just looking at me . when I check on her she was looking at the newspaper looks like she was reading it. After I was finished on that newspaper I put it on my bed and she slept on it. My dogs drink coffee. Everytime I have my breakfast they were always there to wait for my coffee, the left over is for them to finish lol. They also like to push me when I went home and I when I do not notice them. Whenever I go home we always kiss and when I did not notice them they will push me and move away from me. These are just some of the things they do.

The smell is just so strong and....blah! lol. i have three cats at home and they each have their own quirky habit. my girl, the one in my avatar, is a cleanliness freak. she'd hold her bladder and bowel if the litter pan is not clean. she'd meow and meow until i clean her litter pan for her. if i ignore her for a day or two, she'd do her business on my bed. thankfully it only happened once as i have learnt my lesson well. my cross-breed boy loves to eat prawns. my father will cook a few prawns for him everyday. when the time for prawns is near, he'd start to look for my father. he'd meow and meow until he cooks and serve his prawns. my local long-hair boy is an attention seeker. he'd lie down on the floor, belly up, because he knows he looks darn adorable like that. however, the belly-up position doesn't mean we can touch his belly. he hates it when we touch his belly though i have no idea why. a side note, cats are lactose-intolerant so giving milk to your cat can cause her to have diarrhea.

When it's dinner, they want it! lol None of my cats really lie on their backs, but one of my dogs do, she looks so cute and funny when she does! :) *I dont have to worry about that with my cat since she doesn't accept milk :P But my other two...they like it. They dont get a ton of it, but luckily I've never had a problem with them having diarrhea.

I have three dogs that always drive me crazy because they are jealous of each other. When I pet one, I have to pet the other two at the same time or they'll sulk. I have a miniature dachshund and she will not sit on just the bare floor, even if its carpet. If there's something that she can get to, even if it's on the couch she pulls it down and drags it to the middle of the floor to lay on.
