I cant believe there are really such people who are so mean and very discriminating. We welcome every foreign nationals here in our country and we are very hospitable compare to other country. Have you heard the what Koreans had said to us in Twitter? I just got received a text message about how they call all of us as monkeys. They are happy on whats happening with us and wish that the rain wont stop because so that we get drowned because monkeys cant swim and they laughed! Isnt so annoying that we welcome all the Koreans here and some of us teaches them to speak english but they didnt even give a minimum salary? But as Filipino we badly needed a job so we accept it. Most of all, we are now suffering from the aftermath of typhoon Ondoy and they were just laughing at us? We are so kind to them and we just dont deserved them!!!!!!!1

Only a racist would respond to a racist's comment. What a person says cannot represent the whole unless officially designated. It's not their president or ambassador who spoke such things, no need to be mindful of the nonsensical talk of one uneducated misinformed street kid.

So true! i think most of us are just misinformed. whoever made the comment, is entitled to his/her own opinion. we also have our own connotation and generalizations, good or bad, about other nations, but we can't all blame them for what one person did. We just all have to be mindful of what we have to say, how we say it and what the consequences of our actions are.

they hire filipinos to teach them english and that means we are better. now, if we are monkeys, then what are they? lesser species?

not just lesser species but much more lesser than moronic jerk species! shame on them! they deserve not to be respected.

I am pretty sure this are just one isolated case and I guess we cannot file a protest for this case since it is a matter of web related text and it is not something like what happened to HK journalist that wrote an article about us that was offending to many Filipinos for that we can easily file a diplomatic protest but I think it would be hard for us to identify and exactly pinpoint who said it as it is in a social networking sites which does not reveal the true identity of the person.

maybe they're the monkeys.. the fled from korea to go here in the philippines.. so might be escaping something in korea.. lol :D cant even speak english right.. as far as i see it, we're more superior compared to them.. they're just good in numbers and math and even Chinese people are better than them.. but as far as their speech is concerned, i cant understand a thing that they're saying.. :D

I personally will not think about it after read the stupid twit. He is probably is a jobless Korean or uneducated gangster trying to 'shock' and 'awe' Filipino in twitters. Just laugh it off; waste of time to get angry with a punk in Korea. End of story.

I was not that offended by those degrading comment by an ignorant and arrogant Korean... The only thing that's pissing me off is most of us is acting like what he/she did... Funny thing happened in our area when I checked our local news, three Baguio guys beat up six Korean guys because of the slanderous comment made... See what's happening? The Korean guys didn't do anything and three of my country men beat them up for a silly comment made by one Korean... Tsk tsk tsk.

hello Junmae,I tried to track down the similar discussion so that i can post the link but failed..oh, wait a minute i download it as a picture. i believe that account was closed. it's hard to believe that such person can do such thing. i don't thikn it's fake as few responders claim in similar discussions because she had a lot of followers in her twitter account. too bad she made that mistake.. but i guess we should moved on since they're good koreans in the Philippines too.

Actually I don't know about that. My husband is working in Korea and I don't hear any bad things about Koreans from him. We cannot generalize them. I cannot give any comment as well for now because I haven't seen that thing yet. Can you send me the link?

it's really heartbreaking that some people could laugh at other people's misfortunes. that girl is the real monkey. but hey, let us not generalize the comment to all koreans because there are a lot of them who are great and are friends with filipinos. screw the girl, not the whole korean population. ^^

I responded to a discussion about that two days ago... and am image of the twit message was also posted... i went as far as checking the twitter account but it was already suspended... i think there are people who are using the name of celebrities to reak havoc in the internet... and they use calamities like Ondoy to further their bad intentions... Well, in my case... i think we should just ignore them... the more we show that we are affected by their words... they more that they are happy... so in my case... this is the last discussion about this topic that i will respond to...

Hi junmae, if I recall right, I commented about a discussion a few months back about Korean telenovelas on Philippine soap time. I received a reprimand from a fellow Filipino defending the Koreans. What else can I say?

Well it is crazy to think that they were able to make fun out of it. It is so cruel and mean that many people suffered and in pain with that situation and then they were there laughing all about it. I actually saw that myself on twitter. An email regarding that matter was spreading among offices here in Makati City. We don't deserve such treatment after all. Every individual of every nation needs to respected. More importantly I don't want to argue with her because I saw her photo on twitter...and oh boy I don't wanna go to the monkey issue..LOL..:) Proud to be Pinoy! Peace Y'all!
