so many bad things happening lately...the global warming is one of the sign aside from the never ending chaos and war in some countries...storms, earthquakes have claimed the life of many people...crimes are increasing...the list never ends.. there are claims that 2012 is the end of the world...if u don't know what i mean, u can try to google 2012 or end of the world and do ur little research and see what i mean. there is even a movie made for that one.... i don't know exactly what to believe but this sort of reminds of me of Y2K. also, i think that if its the end, then its the end and we can do nothing about it but accept it. i also think that all these things happening especially natural disasters takes place because mother earth is too abused and so its wrath against us....and we all suffer from the consequence because we took it for granted...if we continue living this way, the earth may not be suitable place to live in for the future generation.. with all these things happening, let us remember especially to some who are fortunate enough to escape, to live, to survive that life is short to waste. lets just make the most of it. we only get to experience life once. :)

Hi eliezl, While global warming is something new that we have to be concerned about, the other issues have been around for a long time. There have always been storms, earthquakes, and crime, it's just that we hear so much more about it now. While we can, if we are willing to make sacrifices, do something about global warming, there is little that we can do about natural disasters. Crime is unlikely to decrease until we have learned to deal with the root cause. As for the end of this world, it will happen for each of us when die. I feel that the greatest problem we are facing is our own ability to destroy all life on the planet. We are not capable of destroying the earth, and there is no doubt but that the planet would eventually renew itself. I think that we need to become a more spiritual people and realize that we are all one. There is no need for us to be fighting wars, rather we must all learn to reach out and help one another. It is possible to have world peace and to eliminate hunger and that is what we should be striving for. I don't believe that the world will end in the year 2012, but it's possible that we could be on the verge of some great changes, hopefully good. Blessings.

Hi again eliezl, You have certainly struck the nail on the head with the comment that 'we all have to change ourselves'. That is when real change will happen, thanks for sharing. Blessings.

you have a good point there. it might just be the same as that in y2k..but all the things happening lately..one bad thing after another, it seems like the world is giving us a sign....so many deaths lately..and many problems..majority of them are man made though.. especially the war..its there ever since in the past. i guess all we could do to change this world of ours is start the change ourselves...perhaps if everyone of us do this together and unto this together then change would be possible.... i hope its for the good too. and whether the end of the world will happen or not, we juz have to live life to the fullest because we never know what will happen to us in the future (accidents, diasters, etc. etc. *knocks on wood) thanks for the insightful comment Pose123 ^_^

Nothing lives on forever and the same is true with our earth. Time will come that it too, will give up the ghost and that's the end of life as we know it. The Scriptures outline the signs preceeding the end of the world. Among those are occurence of earthquakes, war, famine, pestilences and others. Look at what is happening around us, we can say that we are in the end days but as to when, no one can know for certain. It is imperative upon us to live our lives to the fullest and contribute to the betterment of society and mankind as a whole. Have fun.

Yes. Lately it's a lot of disasters in the world. And many forecasters are saying the end is near. But i think, sooner or later, the end will come, too. The only thing that we should do is to prepare yourself to ready to face this all. Think of this as a test of God, we should patient and get closer to Him. Do not be easily tempted earthly things are only temporary.

I almost get annoyed about people who always put to thinking about end of the world. I must say that why we always take a view about end of the world, we don't know exactly if the world really ends or only the life of a person ends. I never anticipate the statement of the world because I always do my responsibility to be a good citizen and a better person.

My dear, the 2012 that being predicted is the prediction of man. There are so many predictions that never happen. The seventh day adventists predicts that the end of the world will occur between March 21, 1843 and March 21, 1844, and again in October 21, 1844. Jehovahs witnesses declare Christ is here in 1914. Declares 1975 is the judgment day. Remember no one knows the second coming of Christ, even Christ don't know his second coming to the earth, but only the Father(Matthew 24:36). The disaster that happen today in our world is the signed that the second coming of Christ is very near. You can not make a conclusion that things in earth makes man an everlasting happiness, all are vanished. We cannot predicts what will happen for tomorrow, so we must prepare our self that anything will happen we will be saved on judgment day, the eternal life that being promised we can gain. You must be in the TRUE CHURCH that Christ promised to be saved.

I get what you mean with this. Too many things are happening in the world, to the world already that may make the mind wonder and wonder. I, too believe that the world will come to an end someday, though I believe no one will know when it happens. If it happens, it happens and we just have to do lots of good things on Earth sincerely while we can. Because when the time comes for us to go, (as in the world ends), it will be too late already to do good things. This is my take on this. It could even end tomorrow for all I know. That's why I always make it a point to stay close to my love ones and keep in contact with them. Good topic here.

I was seeing the movie Transporter 2 recently and in that Jason tells the kid that there is no point in worrying about something that might not happen. Nobody is sure that the world will end in 2012. Yes, a lot of bad things are happening, but when the bubonic plague ruled the world people thought that that was the end of the world as well. Didn't happen. Humans still live to kill each other till this day. So my point being, just live on. It doesn't happen.. good. If it does happen, then we won't be here to complain about it. bourne

...Hi eliezl, I for one have no idea when the world is going to end, and I doubt that anyone, as someone else mentioned, knows except the Lord. What we can say is that all these things, that seem to be increasing, wars, rumors of wars and water shortages, are only the beginning. Sure these things have been going on for a while, but when have you heard not one, but two countries, North Korea and Iran, trying to have enriched uranium for nuclear weapons, while firing off short and long range missiles to let all know that they are ready to defend their rogue actions? Things are getting wild and we need to pay attention, but not be consumed by these things. It, in my mind, is going to take a while and it will be getting worse than it is now. I tell some of my friends that these are the good old days. So enjoy your life, tell those you care about, that you love them, live as though today is your very last day. Take care and be good to yourself and others.
