Have you travelled alone?

Travel as we all know, makes nerves easy and worries away. But do you ever have a bad experience? My friend went out alone for a trip and met someone who is married and rich but wants to date her. She rejected but then regret. It's kind of funny because she wants him to show her around and buy some meals for her maybe. LOL... This never happened on me while I'm travelling alone. Do you like travelling alone? And anything interesting?

For me, traveling alone is second best after traveling with my girlfriend. I traveled a lot so I have a high rate of survival in unfamiliar place so I rarely worried about being lost/hungry/etc. I traveled alone in Melbourne, Auckland, London, New York City and Washington DC. Everything is easier when I travel alone but sometimes it can be so boring.

My trip alone never got boring, but it could be so tired and sometimes exhausted. you've been to several countries. That's cool!

YES. But it's worth it,don't you think? To catch a plane is always inconvenient and tired. I would never to take the plane if I can go in other ways.

Yeah I can get really exhausted when I have to transit in an airport for several hours. I can't sleep in the airport because people can steal my bag or I can miss my flight.

That's just one time thing though. Maybe in the future you will recommend someone to travel alone, cause that's something you won't forget in your whole life.

That's interesting ! Well, I have travelled a lot, to different parts of the world. Most of my trips were business trips, and mostly alone. It is always so interesting to visit places in foreign countries, one gets the chance to learn about the different cultures and traditions. I enjoy buying souvenirs from those countries. I have a collection of very nice souvenirs !

That's nice! I like collecting things. Travelling can broaden our mind and relieve our nerves. And we can always find something rewarding and wonderful. Lucky you!

It depends on where you are going. In a way, it's great to travel alone because you don't have to think of what the other person wants, of whether he/she will want to do what you want to do, and of course, nobody will rush you on anything -- I like taking my time, so this is important for me lol. But it can be daunting, sometimes even scary, especially when you meet some not-so-good people along the way.

Exactly. You can stay in a small inn or big hotel, just follow your own feelings. You don't have to do something to cater to others.

When I was younger I often travelled on my own, but now I prefer to travel with my husband or some friends. I have met some interesting people when I was travelling alone. I once met a man who wanted to marry me. We had only spent half an hour together when he started talking about his feelings for me. He told me that he loved me so much and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me...but when he discovered than I wasn't going to invite him to my country, his love for me suddenly vanished!

Yes, I have traveled alone. My last trip that I did alone was in 2006 when I went to Bulgaria and Romania. Also that year I went to the Maldives on my own. In 2003 I visited Croatia, Montenegro and Slovenia alone. I went to the USA, French Polynesia, the Cook Islands and New Zealand alone from 2001 to 2002. I like to stay in guest houses these days but in my younger days I stayed in friendly backpacker hostels. Your friend might have been wise to stay away from the married man that she met. Happy traveling.

Many at times I used to travel alone, even if it's a long journey of 3 days in a stretch. After all it's fun because you can get some new friends & if we are with someone, there is only a little chance of getting new friends. Happy Lotting

I never expect to get new friends while I was travelling alone. I just wanted to be alone. No one's around. The feeling is quite different in a good way.

I did travel a lot of times alone in the PHilippines, my country. My previous work prior to my current one required that I travel from one province to another to reach out to Local Government Units and assist them in their computerization efforts. I would say that I spend around 2 years of my life doing that,

Isn't that cool? Travel while work and somebody is gonna pay you well. I think you do enjoy your life a lot.

Travelling in the city, yea. But travelling for vacation or going to some new places, no. I always have a companion. But honestly, I like to try and travel on my own. It sounds exciting.

Without a companion is much much different. You could try once to go out of the city. I did a couple of times. Felt great.
