preventive measures or cure?

WEll, im guilty as charged. Only drink vitamins when I have colds and its just the way around and surely not the effective way to care for ones body but its just the way it is. I dont have a good lifestyle when it comes to caring for my body and it really does make sense to care for our bodies before we get sick and its a reminder. to me as well. Its just a cycle everytime I get sick, its when I get sick that I start drinking vitamin c and the like. What about you my friends are you like me or you are taking care of your body well. Thank you in advance for sharing and have a nice day and take care!

I would go for preventive measures, but there is a limit. I won't jump to any preventive measures at all for nothing. Not unless I am really comfortable with it and I prefer something this is so natural. Like a friend said drinking lots of water; that way, yes. I've never really had any vitamins, but this is my preference. I know there are people whom swear by vitamins, but I would get my dosage from the natural sunlight, LOL. Another preventive measure that I agree by would be to eat all the natural fibers and to get the right kind of exercise; a few times a week..

Thank you for sharing and have a nice day to you!

Try to avoid too salty food yeah. It might cause some complications to the kidney, I think. Of course not all people will suffer like that, but it's best to be precaution about it. Let's try to avoid junk food, I'm trying too, hmmmm..

I've been taking vitamins for about twenty years and the benefits are showing. I'm 58 years old and barely sick. I look healthy and have a bare minimum of illness. Actually my only complaint is too much bad chloewsterol. Nothing else. All else works just fine and the most I get during the year is a couple bouts of the flu. Try that for size !

I drink food supplements every day because I don't want to get sick, especially with all the illnesses that are spreading these days. This way I feel safer and more confident to mingle with people. I suggest you do the same because you might catch a disease if you don't take care of yourself.

I do not take medicines unless I find it very difficult to beat the uneasiness. For simple things like cold, it is always better to drink lots of water and have citrus fruits than having vitamin c. Our body is like a lazy human being that if we start giving it things it produces or extracts from the food we eat, it simply stops to do it job and more complications arise. Eat more fruits which are rich in vitaminc c, guava is a good source of it. You must take care of your body and start caring about your life style.

I am diabetic so I really need to be aware of taking care of myself, sometimes I think in a way I am healthier than before I was diagnosed because I have to make the effort to deal with things before I get sick now...! I agree with those who have talked about water - I started drinking a lot and I didn't know if it was making any difference, and then I had a few days where I didn't do it, and I really quickly felt dehydrated, my blood sugar was running higher and I noticed the difference in my skin.

I tend to go incycles about vitamins as well. They help me with body aches, so I should take them all of the time, but I do not. I do not increase them for colds, though.

I make it a point to be careful when I am healthy, and then it something does happen that affects my health, I do whatever I need to do in order to fix the problem.

vitamins or vitamin water is ok but they are not a prevention of colds etc. You are better off taking a good one a day multiple vitamin and eating lots of fruits and veggies. C will help some with colds, but not flu or allergies. Colds will usually hang on for 7-10 days no matter what you do for them. All the OTC stuff makes you feel a little better but won't cure a cold.

Hi Zelmarq! I usually take Vitamin C and Ferrous once a day. Because they help in preventing anemia and boost our immune system. I don't wait when I get ill. Because I know it will hinder my activities and make me weak. So I try to prevent it. And it also give me an extra shield especially I don't sleep much. But I am not a day to day compliant woman. I also stop to drink them when I am just at home and I am not working so much. Sometimes I also take multivitamins. Have a nice day Zelmarq!

zelmarql the best way to get vitamins and make yourself more healthy is to eat a lot of veggies and fruit, lean meat, whole grains, drink lo fat or skim milk, go very scanty on fats, salt and sugar too. get lots of fresh air and exercise too. and plenty of good sleep every night. and maintain a positive mood and get a lot of good healthy laughter,it is actually good for your health to laugh and to be happy. I do try to do all these things and when I do I feel so much better.

Well!for me "prevention is better than cure".If you dont want to be sickly person,or you want some protection to your body that helps fight the diseases. You need drink any kind of vitamins that will help to your body or else your body will give up.For me what i did, because im working in a hospital.Really i need to drink vitamins for my body because i was exposed to any kind of diseases.Vitamins are like antibody of our body,it help us boost our health and maintain the stability.Or if your dont like any medication try to eat some fruits which contains vitamin c like orange good source of vitamins c.There are many fruits that contains vitamins and minerals. You should start to take care of your body Health is wealth, even your the richest person in the whole world but your sick money cannot do anything with your health. And also if youre getting sick most of the times it means that your body is very tired or your immune system is low.It is the sign that our body needs help just like the machine robot they are getting low-battery same as our body.

I take a multi-vitamin every morning. It helps me stay alert throughout the long day. I always took vitamins growing up and then when my son was little stopped taking them. I was so tired all the time I couldnt function without huge amounts of caffeine. Even then I was still exhausted. I started taking vitamins again daily and feel so much better now. I can make it through the day so much easier now.
