Way back to old school days, it seems that in our batch we are all afraid to our teacher, it is not because they look like monster. We are afraid because if we done something wrong, it will de deducted to our grades and that's we don't want us student. When our teacher already had a big voice we are going to be silent and no more complaints, we also make sure that we don't hurt our teacher in terms of reasoning so much or not listening to them because again of grades. But now most student did not mind their teacher, my cousin is a teacher and she said it is very hard to understand her students tuntrums. They were not afraid of their teacher, they reasoned so much.

I had this one professor in college, who I was really really afraid of.. He was really a terror, very strict, and sometimes he tends to embarass students. I remember one time, we had a group report, and one of my groupmates decided that she could just copy what was written in the book and put it in the report.. when my prof saw it, he was super angry and he tore our report into pieces... I was so shocked, and was so angry at my groupmate.. After that I was really obedient when that prof is around. I think I got traumatized by the exeperience.

terror teachers would really make a mark with you.. I don't know if that's really a good or a bad thing.. specially when you have been traumatized at a very young age.

That's what I hate, they control students by telling them to give minuses. You know I am kind of student who have a lot reasons, when I was in high school I just keep my reasons on me but when I reached college I really reasoned out to one of my teacher, he is so I can't explain his traits. He will gave us assignment (college students) of course because it is research in the internet it is possible that all of you had the same research or many of you, he check the assignment one by one alphabetically, he only gave two grades 100 and 60, so if your assignment were the same of the first assignment he checked you have 60 automatically. I told him he is unfair, what if those first student just copied their assignment to us. they're 100 and we are 60? I also told him to change his basis and grading, my teacher told me "Not to teach him, wait for my turn to be a teacher" I replied silently I will not be a teacher, I did not know that he has a sharp memory. Since then, I feel he had a hot blood for me, that's why I was afraid that he will magic my grades.

Yes. I once had a teacher in primary grade that I am really afraid. She is like a monster, not that she looks-like. But she really scares me. It is because she has a really bog voice and she calls you in class randomly and asks you questions that no one can really know the answer. Remembering it can just make me laugh.

Having attended a Catholic grade school, yes. Not afraid a potential physical situation, but a mental one. Some of the teachers (nuns) early on were very intimidating. I had a teacher in second grade that was just plain mean so you had to be afraid of what she might say or how she might react. In college I had a 26 year old professor who had a PhD. He taught so far over our heads and that was intimidating as well. A very interesting topic indeed as teachers play a huge role in how we develop and interpret things.

I guess so, because some nuns were silent type. You know we as a student we a kind sheep inside the classroom but outside we are speaking what we have in our mind. Reasoning behind the teacher's back because we cannot express it, afraid for minus., i just don't know why they included character in the grading system.

Thanks for sharing, that was I thought too when you were still on grade school, and middle school., but in our case even college days we are still afraid of our teachers because they will tell us "I will give you minus 1 or so on.."

Yes, I have. It takes me back to the time when I sat down in class, I think it was around my 2nd grade. We had a teacher, female teacher, and she sometimes got angry for nothing at all. She looked like an antagonist role on horror movie and a lot of students were scared, just because of her. And I think it was not good for elementary students to have a teacher such as her. Everytime we made a mistake she even 'little-punched' the guilty party, in front of all students. But the last thing I heard from her was she got fired from her job (which was elementary school teacher) because fought with another teacher and polive even involved. LOL!

I was afraid of my Latin teacher when I went to high school. He had a very unpleasant personality, he often yelled at us if we made mistakes, and he liked to humiliate us and make fun of us in front of the rest of the class. Everyone was afraid of him, and in the break before the Latin class everyone spent the time on studying. Even though we had already done out homework we all wanted to study one more time. He was very good at Latin (and other languages), but he wasn't a good teacher, and I especially didn't like the way he made fun of us.

I was afraid of my Math teacher when I was in college. She was runde to me because I appeard as a lazy student in my class. But, I always studied after going home and got good marks for all my exams. I never got recognition when I was in college. Once I forgot to bring the class note and she made me stand for an hour. She asked me infront of all the students that how can I remember to put lipstick, but forget to bring note book.

Humm I've been afraid of the fact that If I get too nervous while standing in front of a teacher (If she/he is testing me) I tend to pass out and it's terrible. So yeah I'm afraid of passing out in front of a teacher and the class, but teacher themselves don't scare me. Just think that right now I like one of them and he's so older than me lol

When I was a little girl, I was really afraid of my teacher. Even in our class, most of the kids were more afraid of their teachers than their parents. Sometime when children do not listen to their parents, parents will say:"if you don't listen to me, I will tell your teacher about this things! He will critise you." Then the kid will mind much better. To some extent, it's a stange phenomeno. The reasons I can think about, are that, teachers are more severer than parents. Sometimes, teacher means power, a kind of strange power in children's mind. If any one of us do something wrong, teacher will criticize the kid in the class. All the kids are there, it's really embarassed to be criticized. But when kids grow up, we will neven be afraid of our teacher, we treat teacher more like a friend. Nowadays, kid are never afraid their teacher, one reason is that all the kids are more open than the kids of oldtimes. An other reason is that, the respect for the teachers are not so much as before I think.

One who works hard in his school days, can never become a teacher as he cannot know how to play in the class with teacher. the other one who was a trendsetter in playing with teacher will be able to handle students as a teacher very effectively. so u need to be part of students mindset as teacher... Let me suggest ur cousin, 1. teacher shud always dominate in the class. nowhere we shud be in their hands. 2. teacher shud make students think dat teacher knows more about the subject than them. 3.teacher shud hav eye contact on every student even they try to hide behind their front seats. 4.teacher shud not at all allow discussions among students in the class. If u maintain these primary things in a class the whole class will be in our grip. I suggest u these vth my xperience but iam sure wat i said. Plz Plz try to do it & let me know the reaction even +ve or -ve.... thank you

I'm afraid the English teacher, because if we have wrong to talk our head will be their subject. Not only that, our hand also being their subject if we are wrong to write a sentence. But, I think they have a reason for doing that things.

I've always been afraid to my teachers. Since my mother and aunt were teachers, I think a stigma was left in my head and have always thought that they teachers are our second mother. Which I think is probably true since I've been treated very good by my teachers. I think that nowadays, parents are giving too much love on their children that's why they become hardheaded and this resort to a discipline problem at school.
