Another bright idea

I was digging around in a drawer, looking for an Allen wrench, cussing at the guy who took all our organizers out of said drawer. I kept moving the SAME screwdrivers out of my way.
Then, there was this basket from the dishwasher, long, not too deep and I started dropping the screwdrivers thru the slots.
Why not just put them in the darn thing?
So, I started hunting up the screwdrivers and arranging them in the slots (still need to go back and actually SORT them as to the KIND of screwdriver) but I ended up nearly filling the basket.
Well, now, this is nice, but what do I DO with it?
Hang it on the WALL!
So, I go get my drill (actually I have about 5 drills, but SOMEBODY lost the batteries/chargers.)
I drill a couple of holes in the wall in a room that is mostly cat free at the moment, put a couple of LONG screws into said holes and hung the basket!
Now, I just need to get all the loose screws and the like out of the drawer and organize them!
Wow! 2 bright ideas in 2 weeks! I'm on a roll!
You have any good ideas lately?

Congrats to you! Would you like to come over and organize all my crap when you're done with all your stuff?

[b]Hmmm...seems to me the brightest idea I had was to have my helper knock out some easy new curtains for my bedroom window to replace the ugly sheet I'm currently using...but she seems to be TOO FREAKIN' BUSY ALLA DANG TIME LATELY...em]whistle[/em]

[b]Yer up! Love the rain, don't you? (No watering plants today!
)
No, your idea was to do the patio door windows. The bedroom window was MY idea, as it needs curtains more. But curtains at all was your idea...so...GMTA!

That is a great idea. Hubby has a tool chest, but doesn't always utilize it for that!
I just made homemade firestarter blocks using egg cartons, melted wax and wood shavings. You place the wood shavings in the egg cartons and pour melted wax over each egg holder. I went one step further and place a few drops of essential oil in each to add scent to them.

Amazing the simple ideas that are true brainstorms huh?
Okay I realize I could have my putz super fix it, but whenever he fixes things he makes it worse. It has to do with the toilet...Some time ago, the "arm" part inside the tank rusted and broke off at the end..the arm part is the thing a ma gig that has the chain that makes that thingie flap up and down when you flush...yeah, I know real tech terms I'm using...LOL. Anyway, you'd be amazed what paper clips can do....I hook one end of the clip to the chain part, then wrap the other end of it around the "arm"--It works!

I use my BF's empty Altoids tins for organizing screws and small parts. I can write on them with Sharpies so I can tell what is in them. I use them for everything...bear parts, screws, pen nibs, and so much more. They stack nicely and are easy to store and the best part is that they are free! I even will put the mini bear parts that need to be sewn into the tins.
My best idea was today when I decided that I wasn't going to get the stuff for my nerve block shot because my body just couldn't handle the extra trauma of the shot on top of the "virus", falling on my butt and fracturing my vertabrae, and the healing from the knee replacement. The doctor agreed with me totally, informing me that he would have refused to give me the injection if I had brought the stuff in.

maybe... found a couple of small ones, I hope the larger one is the one that is needed
"nerve shot" for what?
I bet you are really hurting today, I always find the following days after the injury hurt even more than the day you get hurt...

I get a nerve block shot in my neck just at the point where the base of the skull connects with the first vertebrae. I need them about every 6 months to help control the pain from the OJI I had in 1982. I can tell when the 6 months is nearly up because I start having horrible pain and migraines.
You're right about the pain being more severe a few days after the accident. I had a miserable time getting out of bed this morning. The worst thing is trying to cough and break up the infection in my lungs. I look like a pretzel when I have to cough. I have one hand over my mouth, one pressing on my back, I am bent over to help the infection come up from the lungs, and my legs are usually up close to my chest to help control the pain...except the left leg doesn't go that far up, so it is crossed behind my right leg.
Hey, if you decide to use the Altoids tins, let me know. I have a couple hundred of them in storage and I get more each week from my BF.
OKAY! Sigh, Khuay has been on my lap about fifteen times, peering into my face and giving me a short "YHAT", which in cat language is "Don't forget to tell my friends hello".
Now that I have done that, he is busily climbing in the dog pen. It looks like it's going to be one of "THOSE" days!

You clever bunny, you! Don’t you feel proud of yourself? You should be...Reading your discussion reminded me, not so much of a bright idea, but your talk of drills made me recall the time I moved into my own place by myself before I got married and I felt so independent and satisfied with my own little place. I wanted to put pictures up on the walls and in the past I had always relied on a male doing it for me but this time I borrowed my friend’s drill and away I went drilling holes in the walls wherever I wanted my (MY) pictures to go and I did a darn marvellous job even if I do say so myself! I was very proud indeed, I moved in and put everything in its place without anyone from the male species assisting me. I felt I made a bit of a statement for myself...

I wanted a drill, went to Sears and got me as big a one as I could handle.
Then I was... well dating would be a bit extreme... seeing this guy, I told him I had a drill and I guess he thought I had some kind of girlie drill, so when I brought it out he was impressed...
My dad wasn't handy, so I never really learned to build anything, but I do my best because I used to break stuff all the time and had to fix them to not get in trouble...

well, I haven't needed another screwdriver or anything since then, but I need to get back to picking up the screws, I've been too tired to do that lately - that party last weekend (the one we used the bose for) really wore us out and I'm just now feeling more back to normal.

Well, I did finally get my new tapestries hung up Thursday. I had put them up originally with double sided tape, and one of them had fallen. We put it back up with photo mounting pads. Again, it came down. So Thursday, I got my son to put it back up with tiny tacks! This time they aren't going anywhere.

Nothing like your idea, but I did try freezing bell peppers and was successful! They were on sale, I love them with potatoes. I cut them into little strips and put them on a cookie sheet in the freezer and they froze beautifully!
Of course, my two dogs really enjoyed it, too. They each got several strips and loved it!

Actually, this was some kind of shallow top rack basket I discovered pretty quick I'd never use. In fact, I HATE the baskets from the new dishwasher and am still using the one from the old - actually HALF the one from the old one - don't know why you need that much space, as it is, it'd take ALL my flatware to fill them, tho one time I did have to get one of the new one's baskets because I did have too many for just the old basket

No, I can't say that I've come up with anything too bright lately...but I was just thinking-----chances are, the next time you go look for a screwdriver, you'll look in the drawer where they once were, and then forget you organized them in a little basket, and hung them on the wall...and then...there'll come a time, when you decide you're going to wash up those old utensils you found lying around, and figure you can wash them in that little basket that was in the drawer. The next thing you'll know is that you'll be driving yourself crazy wondering; "What did I do with that dang little dishwasher basket....and where did I finally put those stupid screwdrivers anyway?" Hehehehehe.

well, they are pretty obvious actually and that darn basket has been in the drawer with the stuff, and just a tad to tall to let the drawer close - so it's a win/win situation! now I just need to find some small jars for the darn screws! DERN that Gene!

Check the drawer, they're probably hiding in there.

And btw he spells it Alan.
Right now, my brightest idea is to go to lunch...
