I don't usually do these but this article caught my attention and I wonder what others think. Here is the link: http://news.aol.com/article/del-rio-texas-school-district-turns-away/709315?icid=main|main|dl1|link2|http%3A%2F%2Fnews.aol.com%2Farticle%2Fdel-rio-texas-school-district-turns-away%2F709315 What are your thoughts? I think the US has to crack down and though it is sort of sad it is right on the money. What do you think?

I think it is a very good idea! Now this year my grand daughter is going to pre kiner. and she is the only white kid in there a couple of blacks the rest meican and the teacher has to talk in both spanish and English. as the mexican moms speak no English. and They also have been told that they do have English classes for them to attend if they want. and it is just teh way it is to prove you live here and if that one women lives with her sister or SIL what ever all she has to do is go to school sign something show her bills and say that the women and kids live with her. am sure too the ones with MExico tags are illeagles!

I do agree with you that it is right on the money, but I also feel so sad for the poor children. These are just very young people that don't realize that what they are doing is wrong and they are only doing it because their parents are doing it for them and it is wrong in that situation to target the students. They should instead target the parents in much the same way as many school districts do about truants. If they find out that they are illegals and non-residents then they should be fined. My daughter goes to a school here in Kentucky that is a very diverse school and there is no doubt in my mind that some of the students are illegal aliens but that doesn't bother me too much. The school is succeeding and they aren't over capacity. I really think that these two things should also be kept in mind when trying to keep non-residents out of the school.

ya, it really comes down to the kids. Laws aren't always fun to obey.

hi celticeagle illegal aliens are here illegally so send them'back where they came from. it is sad that little kids have to be caught in this ugly situation. why cannot Mexican people enter here legally then they would be entitled to 'all the same benefits as the rest of us. poor little kids, their 'parents are criminals and the kids will suffer.

Too true! I just feel laws are made for a reason and need to be obeyed.

This is something that I deal with daily. There are a lot of illegal immigrants here. I actually learned to speak Spanish because I needed to communicate with those that did not speak English. Most of the children are bilingual by the age of 6 or 7. That is huge. I don't mind that they are coming over as long as they do it legally. I just think that by breaking the law that they take chances away from our children in the future. I do understand why they want to do it though. Their country is very poor.

I understand the reasoning but laws are made for a reason. Sadly.

Me too. I always think it is unfair for children to have to go through things. They should just have some happiness.

I don't know the truth yet. But I am shame of these officers who shut down the shcool. Even somes oy or girls are from other Mexico, they still should have the same right to go to school. Certainly they should have the right to attend the nearest school arounf their own home.
