Cool. that is a good thing to know. I like to keep mine up to date. I will have to get that done. I have Vista right now and it is working great so I think I can probably wait until I get settled in some where this next Spring.

Well, that sounds good. I haven't seen anything that was a bugger for me but I have heard people go on about some things. I am glad they are getting the bugs out.

Still, it is early to say anything about Windows 7. I know that it got many good and bad critics but unless and until a large bunch of people don't use it, it is still very early. So, what are the good things you found in Windows7

well even though I am still getting used to the layout as I am not good with change, everything seems to be so much easier, I have made my own webpage with word and I have many programs that I use to help me but it seems word seems to be set out in this in such a way I can do it all without the programs. I love the little features that cqan be used to put on the desktop like sticky notes and such and the privacy browser that I can do my banking in.. I just love it all....

Yes, you are the perfect user to check if this s/w is working well or not! We call it a black box testing!

I didn't know Windows 7 was out already in Australia! I've never been happy with Vista and would like to try this new OS, but I guess I will have to wait until I buy a new computer. Was it expensive to buy?

Yes I have a few problems at the moment, but I have been told once it has been officially released updates on many programs will come out...there is a compatibilty section where you can choose it to treat programs like XP...

The only reason I went to Windows 7 is that after a certain date after a new Windows comes out the older one is not as safe as the safety patches are no longer sent out for upgrades.

I just got it on mine! Boy am I behind the times! It's pretty good, eh? Is it still on yours? Don't tell me you've upgraded to the next version already! It's going to take me another three years to catch up. What would you say is the best thing about it compared to what you had before?

Oh no I am going to stay with Windows 7 for as long as it is safe to do so, I am a bit slow in picking all this new technology up...

That sounds like a good idea - only change systems when you really need to do so.

I didn't think Windows 7 was available yet? I have been hearing Good things about it, and wish I would not have to pay so much to try it versus Vista for sure. I have Windows XP on one of my Computers, and Vista on the other 2, and Vista really is a piece of work sometimes for sure.

My old Windows XP machine crapped out before Windows 7 came out, so I got stuck with Vista. I haven't had a lot of problems with it, except for a few things that I used to do in XP that I had to re-learn how to do differently in Vista, but all things considered, when it comes to computers, I'm pretty adaptable.

FYI: windows xp will end its support on 2014. So if you want to upgrade to 7 do it as soon as possible. Its more reliable now.

I'm glad to hear it works well for you. I am currently running windows xp. It works great for me. I hardly ever have any problems. Thus far. As long as it keeps performing as it has, I think I will just stay with it. However, I have a strange feeling things may start screwing up and not working right now that 7 is out. I may need to switch sometime, it's good to know what I will be switching to is reliable. Thanks for your input! :-)

well, the 7 actually utilizes the ram that you have. If you have 1gb ram then it makes use of what i has and it loads up the screen especially during the start up right away. Technology is getting better because it wants to meet all the needs of every user as much as possible. They have surveys of what the comsumer wants and loading up a computer or laptop much faster is one of them. Also the files are much accessible with the newer versions. Even much user friendly after they came up with xp.

I don't think Windows 7 is available yet in my home country. I have Windows Vista on my laptop at the moment so I wonder if I will able to get Windows 7 on it when it comes out.

i am planning to buy windows 7. i just attended a training seminar in Microsoft and you get everything you will need with the new one. Vista is not a satisfying OS and that is what i have now. If you only have 1gb of ram. The 7 actually utilizes it to the last bit so you wont be worried about having to have not much of too advance specs for this software and loads faster than the previous one. i recommend the windows 7 to u all.

I do have to say this with windows 7 its is alot better then vista. You get to run all your programs. You get to have you system upgraded. Even though I have windows xp. I say windows 7 is bit better then this besides the memmory and speed.
