The Nobel Piss Prize cheapened yet again.

The recipients of the Nobel Piss prize I admire are those who sent theirs back in protest. The Nobel foundation has once again pissed all over the grave of Robert Novell, as well as the faces of everyone who truly deserved this award.
Other than being the false god, worshipped by Communist Dictators and mindless drones, what has Obama accomplished that would warrant the Peace prize? Please, be specific.
If I was ever insulted by getting this award, I would place the trophy and documents on the impact area of Orchard Training Area in Idaho, and tell my old Artillery unit that the first crew to score a direct hit on it gets the money that comes with the prize.

I have to say I'm not surprised, although greatly disgusted. Look at all the CNN "Heroes" that aren't heroes. Couric winning an undeserved award in Journalism because it put Palin in a bad light. None of them were deserved and if the people who were awarded them had an ounce of self-respect or decency they would have turned them down. They don't and neither does Obama.

Jump the shark: A term to describe a moment when something that was once great has reached a point where it will now decline in quality and popularity.
Origin of this phrase comes from a Happy Days episode where the Fonz jumped a shark on water skis. Thus was labeled the lowest point of the show.

Obama has stated that he know he doesn't deserves this prize. He doesn't asked for it, he just received it. Nobel organization chose Obama not for what he have done but what he represents: hope and a new way to make diplomacy.
By the way Nobel's prize founder name is Alfred Nobel not Robert.

If he knows that he does not deserve it, then he should refuse to accept it.

Soon the Nobel Peace Prize won't be worth the metal it is made out of. It used to be such a proud symbol. I am not sure how much lower the creditability can go. I think that committee should be seriously reconsidering how they hand this out. I am not sure that the damage done could actually be completely reversed. This is a sad day for those that really deserve that prize.

I'd love that Senator Piedad Cordoba from Colombia would win the prize but she even congrats Obama for his prize

Oh I agree. This is complete nonsense. But to tell you the truth I think it will hurt him more than help him.
He got an award he did not even come close to earning. Which hurts his credibility badly. Especially an award this big.
I have to say....Obama is not looking too good these days.
Rapid supporters who whorship him....ACORN....inability to get anything done...a democratic congress in complete disarray....
Nope not looking good for Obama.
And every event that happens (like winning this award) just bring more public light on just how NOT great things are up there in Washington and how much of bad job is being done.

I am in complete agreement on this one. There ARE people who have deserved the prize... most notably Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King Jr and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Does that make this prize any more prestigious? No way! The Nobel Peace Prize committee is manned by retired Norwegian Parliament members - hardly the experts on peace. Time and time again the winners were chosen as a way to further political agendas - this is no exception. I'm sure those who actually deserved to win were chosen because it would have been complete transparency on the agenda of the Nobel committee if they were not to. The fact that Gandhi was never chosen, despite the fact that he was nominated five times, only further shows the insignificance of this prize. As a pacifist who views peace with the utmost value, I find the prize to be an absolute disgrace. Especially after Al Gore was awarded: fighting global warming is NOT an issue related to peace!

Yes, it was given to Yasser Arafat AND to Yiztak Rabin and Shimon Perez (why does everyone feel the need to leave out the Israeli leaders, who have just as much blood on their hands as Arafat?). It was a move that was obviously done to boost confidence and promote peacebuilding for these men. And obviously, it didn't work.

Not to mention it was given to Yasar Arafat! How many little boys did he send out to get blown to bits?
Peace, peace where there is NO PEACE!

Oh, ParaTed, you are so right. The nightmare continues....I woke up this morning to the dastardly news. No one is less deserving of a "peace", or any other kind of award. Even O fanatics know he has done, at the very least, NOTHING. We know he has done NOTHING GOOD.
Not only does this show how corrupt our world is, but just how much they hate us, just like their "revered" O.
Then, again, remember some other "esteemed" recipients - Yasser Arafat, Al Gore (????)
"Peace, peace, but there is no peace."
"Woe to those who call good evil and evil good."
If he isn't the antichrist, he sure is going to usher him and the end times prophecies in.

muscles4me, I heard someone asked if the day of the announcement was April Fool's Day. If it weren't so sad, it would be funny. But fools listened to Winfrey and the lies planted by Soros, Pelosi, etc.
Angry Kitty, you are so right - this was a bribe in order to advance a horrible leftist agenda.
debrakcarey, giving the "prize" to the likes of Arafat, Gore and O totally renders it worthless. It demeans the concept of heroism, peace, and worth, not to mention truth.
There may be an issue of legality involving Congress allowing a sitting president to accept the $1.4 million, according to the Constitution. Not that anyone's honoring and upholding it these days by allowing the usurper to continue in face of facts to the contrary.
But, we the people must organize and keep demanding Congress immediately investigate him and also see if they can prevent his keeping the money. We must fight to regain our country and never give up. Call every day; I do. Maybe this insult to our country will be the catalyst to make them tell the truth.
My hope and dream: O and all cohorts in jail for treason, all the money he's stolen, re "prize", us paying for his legal expenses, all other tax and other monies he's stolen from us returned to US, we the people. We deserve it as well as our free country returned to us.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't there two wars that the United States is in right now and isn't Obama discussing sending 40,000 more troups over there???If so why is Obama getting the Nobel Peace Prize...Look like he's not trying to find a peaceful solution but keeping it going.......
He says,"He doesn't know why he's getting it...." So why doesn't he decline it until he trully deserves it.....Like that is going to happen in this life time..
I'm still wondering what he has done to deserve it....The people are asking questions that he can't answer like what has he done for the American People...The answer to that is a big fat nothing.......
If he had any intregrate he would give it back....Oh I forgot his pet project that help him get elected which is Acorn needs the money cause Congress isn't letting them have any more needs the money......

They selected him for president because he is black and gave him nobel prize because he is black. If that isn't racism I don't know what is.

It was a BRIBE:
http://www.mylot.com/w/newsarticle/22918085.aspx
President Barack Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday in a stunning decision designed to encourage his initiatives to reduce nuclear arms, ease tensions with the Muslim world and stress diplomacy and cooperation rather than unilateralism.
Nobel observers were shocked by the unexpected choice so early in the Obama presidency, which began less than two weeks before the Feb. 1 nomination deadline.
They did not give it to him for something he's done, they gave it to him to "encourage" him to do what they want!

I agree. Here take this great award....now go do what we want you to do.
But the picked the wrong guy to do that with. He has not proven capable of accomplishing much at all.
It would have served him better to refuse it.
