Hi mylotters. Since i was little people have called me "chati". Well the story for the nickname take us back in time when i was 8 years old or so. I remember it still, the thing is that friend suddenly called me "chatillo". I was curious as why he was calling me that. He explained me that he was playing a soccer videogame and there was a player called like that and it remember him to my last name. So since then people have called me that, later my friends abreviate it in "chati". Now mylotters my question to you. Do you have a nickname? Is there a story behind it as mine has? or did it just pop out of nowhere? Grettings to all of you and happy lotting. Pd: The videogame was international super star soccer for super nintendo.

Well, I do have a nickname, and I prefer that people call me by it. My nickname is Kiah. I think my dad gave it to me when I was young. Back then, it was spelled as Keeyah, but someone just changed it and I don't know who. It was also my dad, I guess. I'll just have to ask him some time. Haha. It's good that they changed the spelling though. When people call me by my first name, it's like an indication that we're not close. I think there's really no story behind it, but I just love it anyway. Take care! :)

I also don't force people to call me by my nickname. Sometimes my friends would goof around and call me by my first name, then I pretend that I don't hear them at all or I say "Who's Krisha?" Well you know how it is when you're with friends, right. Haha. And yes I would like to know the reason too. I would ask my dad when we talk on the phone some time. Good day :)

You know i also prefer people calling me by my nickname. Except for my family, dont really know why it just feel weird. And as well as you, for me if they are not close, they usually dont call me chati. Though if they know im called like that they do it. I dont care if they do it or not. Even though i prefer people call me by my nickname i dont usually tell people to do it so. By the way it would be interesting to know why kiah is your nickname as well as the reasons of the change of spelling. Take care as well Thank you for the reply

i have 6 nicknames created by close family members and friends. First is meme. only my immediate family uses that and my hubby. Another is mon, used by common friends and acquaintances. cousins will use monic or nic. while classmates and co workers use mona and monics. i dont mind at all as long as they remember my real name. My favorite nickname is meme above all and its a very special nick and only a few people very close to me can call me by that name. By the way, i dont know where they got meme from, it just came to being my nickname.

yes, my name is Monica. i do love meme, it fits me perfectly but its so personal to that i only consider very close family and friends to call me by that.

Wow 6 nicknames are a lot. As you, i like more meme, it does sounds appealing. I assume the other ones are because your name is monica right? well it seems to be the more logic thing. Thank you for the reply by the way.

well i understand that, it could be weird if people other than the ones who are used to name you by your nickname calls you by this particular nickname. I for example would feel weird if my family called me "chati". It just wouldnt feel ok.

i have many nicknames when i was still a young girl, my friends called me 'mana', this is how my little sisters called me, it means big sister in my mother's native tongue, and even my playmates calls me that and those that are older than me also. when i was in college a friend of mine called me 'rose', its not actually my nickname or even close to my real name, but it sounds like my surname, and she shortcut it and called me 'rose' all the time. when i got into internet i was called 'j', probably because people just want to type shortly my 'jay' nickname.

Hello jayrene thank you for the reply. Curious, why did others called you mana as well. Naming just the initial is a good way to abreviate someones name, and well in your case it does sound the same (j and jay), so it really fits.

I have a few nicknames and it depends on my relationship with them too. Originally, my nickname ever since I was a kid was Mara and Pot (not the container, pronounced as pour (minus the r plus the t). My parents would call me Pot every time, I don't remember exactly the story behind it but I remember it was something about the sound that I make with my lips when I was a baby. Mara is a shortened name from my first and second name. When I was in college, close friends started calling me Mars, Marapot, Babe and Marababe. Only close friends call me that.

Hello marababe thnx for the reply(dunno why but i feel like a robot saying that lol but is standard politeness i guess). Pot sounds funny i can picture the sound you were making as baby. And theres one combining both mara and pot hehe marapot sounds good as well. Happy lotting.

Hey! So I have many nicknames, But the one I want to share with you all is Urine. So here is the story behind this strange nickname. When I was in high school, my friends and I would pass notes and write notes in class to give to each other when we were switching classes. However, if a teacher caught you with a note, they would read it out loud to the class. So to hide our identity from our classmates, we all had code names. Well my best friend and I would be on the phone all day/night long just chatting and doing homework. Well while doing this we would have to go to the bathroom, so we would have "pee races" to see who could get back to the phone the fastest. SO a long story short, my code name was urine, and his was pee! I know it's a goofy story, but I hope you enjoy it!

Hello baybay. I found your story really fun to read and i did enjoy it. Its a really really weird and funny way to earn a nickname by the way. Never heard of a story like that. So you and your friend are known as pee and urine, which actually means the same, so both of you are namesake. Thank you very much for your reply, happylotting.

Lol, where you that bad? Now you made me remember that my mother used to call me like a famous terrorist(think he was from peru not sure but it was from southamerica) of that time. That was because as a kid i was a destroyer lol. Though it wasnt really a nickname that stood like "chati" i mean 10 years have passed and im still known as "chati". And i forgot to mention that the only ones who dont call me like that are my family. They call me by my name.

no i don't have a super solid nickname meaning not everyone calls me it. i have different nicknames with different people but not one that everybody knows. i wouldn't really want a nickname that everybody calls me unless it was catchy. otherwise i don't really care. so do i have a nickname? not really :)

Well thats interesting. Having too many nicknames is like having too many names lol. Well i havent really gave a thought about if i wanted or not a nickname it just happen when i was a kid. As it has stood by through all this years, i think that is the reason i like it and became catchy. Thnx for the reply and happylotting.

I've 2 nicknames: one was given to me by my dad. He used to call me Dadang, the story of which I don't know. Only my immediate family and my relatives call me by this nickname. I didn't really use this at school or even at work. My second nickname is what I use in the office. My friends in the office call me "Nice" as in sugar, spice and everything nice.

Havent you ask about its origin? If we decompose the word the first thing i would think would be "dad" and "ang". Though that would only make sense if the nickname have an english origin. "Nice" is a nice nickname. Thanks for the reply and happy lotting.

Yes! I have a nickname- the most people call me "the chinese" because my father is vietnamese, but my mom is bulgarian and we also live in Bulgaria. When I was at the university my friends called me "Zubar", which means "a man who read a lot of books", because I always have had good notes.

Hi edxcast. I've had a nickname in my family since I was just learning to talk. My name is Valerie, and I couldn't say the "V" and I called myself Walerie. The person who still calls me that the most often is my Dad, and it makes me laugh. :D Another nickname I have is Moon. I've collected things with moons & stars on them for about 30 years, and had the word moon in the name of a business that I had for awhile, so some people started calling me Moon. I don't mind being called silver either. :)

Hello silver, I like all of your nicknames. The first one is adorable and it actually reminds of how my dad used to call me. He used to call me "arru", becuase that was the way my little brother try to pronounce my name when he was little(eduardo by the way). He still call me like that sometimes. Wow 30 years collecting things related with moon and stars. That is a long time and it seems you were really into it for doing it for that amount of time. Though i think it would be weird at least in here to call someone moon or silver( Luna, plateado/a) specially the second one. But in english they seem to fit very well, or at least that is how it seems to me. Happy lotting and thnx for the reply.
