How many panic pm's did you send thinking mylot was a goner?

Just curious, I received several panicky messages with hastily added email addresses convince that mylot was gone for good. What about you, optimist or pessimist? I never doubted it would return.

Hi scarlet woman, well I think I actually didn't even notice for a day until I got the first pm about it. Does it happen often then?

Not one single one Thea. But I did add a lot of new friends to my list so that I could PM them and answer their discussion putting their minds to rest. I even got the time right about when the problem would be solved too

Hi there, should I be referring to you by your user name of Grandpa Bob, hate to get these things wrong? I didn't realise that one had happened before here, but it was much better than being locked out and no way of getting back in. Another unconcered one, I suppose people only panic the first time.

hello Thea, A lot had been asking about what's going on and i just pm them if there on my friends-list that just wait because there's something wrong and mylot is gonna do something about it. but there was one user that i know that he said "mylot is sinking" i don't know if it's a joke. if it was then it was a sick one. i spent two days digging for old topics. not bad because i get the chance to reminiscing old ones. Optimist of course!

Hi Letran, oh yes I had the sinking ship too, I really hope he hasn't gone overboard but he did appear to think it was all doom . I dug up a few old ones too so there could be a few cross people out there who never wanted to see some of their old stuff revived, then again they might like it. Who knows. At least we were both optimistic.

I suppose people who are used to good, steady, reliable myLot had cause to be concerned, but for people like me who have spent the last two years on yuwie - well, we could just think it was normal. At times, early in the piece anyway, yuwie would have been down more often than up. We put up with it because it was such a great place to be. I still think yuwie's set up has the most potential for real friendships to develop and blossom, but it has taken the wrong direction and is dying. Panic? No. I thought it would be fixed when they arrived back at work on Monday morning, but of course, their Monday morning is my Monday night, so I had a longer wait. I had every confidence it would be back to normal when I logged in this morning (It is Tuesday 6.00am here).

I'm one of the "lucky" ones who don't need much sleep. 5 hours is plenty for me, so I am seldom in bed before midnight and always up before 5.00am - so we might be on at the same time quite often.

Oh don't worry about that Ms tickle, you think I could really be bothered to think up a witty reply. There should be a limit set on replies and that ghastly digest thing doesn't help, end up in there and ones totally scuppered as people start responding from that too. I'm cheesed off too, its only October and Greece suddenly thinks its winter - where did Autunm go, we have a right to it.

I did email friends who have entrusted me with their private emails abut I never thought for one moment that it was gone forever. That never crossed my mind. I was just wishing that I had more email addressed of my friends. I must sent out for email addresses just in case this happens again. I do believe, however that I am addicted to Mylot as work gets in the way

Well, I come into work an hour earlier and use lunchtimes to catch up a little on MYlot. Then to help me through the day I answer two posts on the hour. Makes me work faster I also take work home but that is usual if I am snowed under but I feel guilty anyway

Hi cynthiann, isn't it meant to be the other way round, mylot getting in the way of work, you must have a bad addiction. Still on the bright side I don't believe we'd encountered each other until this weekend and that was rectified nicely. It's funny how a slew of email addresses suddenly arrive though, I got mine sorted a couple of weeks ago when I mistakenly thought I was about to be banned.

Me neither, Thea. It was a bit annoying, because we have visitors, and yesterday they all had a long lie in, so I thought I could Mylot for an hour or so with a clear conscience. However, I couldn't respond to any new discussions. But I still had fun, and I still earned some money. I think the problem is, there are so many scam sites out there, people immediately assume the worst when there is a technical hitch. I kept the faith, just as you did, and now we're back to normal - or at least what passes for normal on here!

Hi Sandra, so you weren't taking the opportunity of a nice long lie in too. I suppose I never think in terms of scams re this place as it's the only one I've used and they do pay on time. I see now that others are used to moving round between differnt sites but how they've got the patience to work out how they all work is beyond me. Looking forward to seeing more of you again from tomorrow when your guest leave.

I don't know how people have the patience to go around different sites either, and it must impact on your earnings, as surely it would be better to stay with one well run, well paying site, rather than flit around? I've suffered from Mylot withdrawal symptoms over the last month, but I'm looking forward to getting back to normal now.

Well we've got the very cold mornings or they are at least when I get up in the dark, but it's not killing the bugs off, and the flies have barely started yet. We have the most annoying flies ever here, bold enough to land on you and too fast to kill. Yuck, something to look foward to in the coming weeks. Now it's late though and completely boiling. Enjoy your walk.

lol...we are freezing over here, so all our nasty bugs have dissappeared. However, I think I would prefer the bugs over being cold. I have gotten out of my bathrobe yet, too afraid of shivering..lol. But I also feel glued to this darn screen, and I need to get off my but and take a walk.

I discovered the glitch when trying to respond to a discussion that was about Obama winning the Nobel Prize....couldn't respond. Then I tried to post my own and got a 'removed for violations' message! I was convinced for about five minutes that HomeLand Security had finally taken over the internet! I PM'd the two who had posted the discussions, and then I PM'd a friend who got me calmed down. lol

Hi Debra, when I said come for a forage there are more interesting ones than this you know, but why I've not responded as yet to your others, a lot of overnight responses here. Ah so you were a panic sending mailer I see, I wasn't posting anything new so never even noticed actually, then the rabbit pmd me as she was convinced it was about to disappear for good. Didn't stop her posting new discssions which no one could answer though. I saved my panic for last time when I wss convinced I'd be banned.

No such thoughts even entered my head thea. THese system glitches are common and so I just did not think too much about it.However, the one thought that crossed my mind was that with payment date round the corner there were some other issues thta had made the temporary stop in my lot and I also felt it would get rectified very quickly.

Hi kalav, well you were still active with responses as I noted whereas it appears from this that a few had lost the ability to do so. I haven't noticed any major update following on from this glitch, each time we have one I hope it will lead to alerts from second responses received on discussions but it is yet to happen. I think that after the first few times it is only the newer ones who start to panic, as I used to do myself.

Aha...it got me GOOD! I only panicked, running over all my latest discussions wondering what crime I had committed to get me banned from myLot! What puzzled me was that I saw a few discussions being posted, including a reply from you...and couldn't respond! Rarity, of all rarities...I even started a discussion, and couldn't post it! I couldn't even access my friends list, so couldn't PM anyone! I never thought that I would feel sooooo deserted, in the middle of the Ocean, our Ferries cut off, due to high winds....Air Canada's computer with a glitch, that left all holiday (our Thanksgiving) travellers stranded all over the country...and then the one Ferry route, still running had a fire on board! Our AIR access is only by small commuters that fly only VFR, so fog stopped them! NO....I did NOT doubt myLot....I doubted me! Glad we're up and running again...as so missed my many dear friends. Set over 80 cold records, this weekend, too! Cheers...and HUGZ!

Hi Shirly, it sounds as if you had a lot more mylot problems at your end than I did here, the only difference was not being able to respond to new discussions but you were completely out of it. It's funny how when it won't work ones thoughts run to having been banned, mine didn't this time. Sounds as though you're having a bit of a time of it over there and so cold already, seems a bit early for winter, I've still got the fan on over here. Hope you kept warm in front of a big roaring fire. There was still pm here working fine and I even received my first mylotter call which was great fun. Hugs to you too.

Hi thea How are you? I haven't had any panicky messages. I was just trying to be patient myself. I will have to say though that I was getting pretty bored not having mylot to work on. Hi rosepedal, I'm fine thanks and you? I didn't bother starting anything as there were so many going up which no one could respond to that I thought everyone would be innundated at once when it came back or they'd all be removed. Not a single one, even if the whole thing crashed and never came back up there would be another similar site to pop up. I like this one, it works well and we are able to discuss and even occasionally argue various points without things getting excessively nasty like on so many sites. So I am very glad that it got fixed and is up and running again.

Hello wlee, actually thinking about it as you are relatively knew here I didn't receive a pm from you in a panic, but glad you stuck it out and are still here. I'm all in favour of no nastiness on site but you might discover a bit with your forays into the political arena. It doesn't usually have glitches for as long as this one though.
