I wouldn't say Im obsessed with my oral care..But I can NOT STAND the feeling of dirty teeth or plaque. I floss at least once a day and brush my teeth several times..HOWEVER, my hubby can go days without doing either and that just urks me! His teeth are so gross and I can't even remember the last time we kissed..I just don't understand how you can go to bed at night with all that gunk on your teeth. He has already been warned that he has gum disease and still ignores it and he's only 29 yrs old.. If I mention it to him, he just gets pissed...I made a yearly appointment for his checkup and he made up some excuse not to go and he admitted to me he just didn't want to hear from the dentist how he doesn't take care of his teeth.. Im really concerned b/c gum disease can cause heart problems.. Anyone else with me here???

Hi, reneh2o. I was having the same issue. My husband would not brush his teeth in a few years. He would have bad breath. And that would turn me off. So, now he has gotten his teeth cleaned last week. And he had to have three teeth surgically removed last month. I really do hope that this will make him take better care of his teeth. If it had to been me, I know that I would. I don't know why some men and women don't like to brush their teeth. Don't they know that they will have more dental problems as the years go by??

I'm sorry to hear about your predicament... I feel awful for you. My boyfriend used to have the same issue, well, kind of. He would never brush his teeth in the morning, only at night. It used to bother the ef out of me...bad breath is my biggest pet peeve. So I told him in my kindest voice...honey, if you want to spend the rest of your life with me, then we are going to have to do some changes. I will not have a husband who does not have teeth when he's 40. I want to be able to enjoy that beautiful smile of yours until we are wrinkled all bats. That did the trick :) He now brushes and flosses his teeth twice a day.

I'm with you. I love to have a clean mouth. And my hubby could care less. It is so annoying but I still kiss him often. I chose to be with him knowing his faults and I accept them. I agree that there are many health risks and problems associated with poor oral care and wish there was something I could do to get my hubby to be better about it.
