I am an avid cookie baker. I have cutters for all the holidays and have already started making autumnal leaves, pumpkins and apples. soon I will start with ghosts and tomb stones as well as witches and black cats. I also love to decorate them in all sorts of fun ways. Does anyone else do this and what is your favorite holiday to bake for?

You sound like a cookie pro! I've been meaning to make the kind of cookies where you roll out the dough and use cookie cutters - especially since my daughter is into play doh - hee hee. But I end up doing drop cookies or shape them by hand (we handshaped starfish last time!). We have a cookie press that I've been wanting to use . . . and I think I will want to use it for Christmas this year if I can! As my little one will tell you, any day is a good day for baking - hee hee. We try to bake something once a week or two (usually some type of cake) . . . that way there's always some baked goodie in the house at all times. This month in particular, I want to make more pumpkin recipes simply because of the autumn theme. Your Halloween cookie selection sounds too cute! My little one has an interest in skeletons and bones at the moment . . . so I just might look for recipe ideas to make some type of bone cookie for Halloween - hee hee!

I actually use a regular gingerbread recipe but I add a little extra flour and two full tablespoons of canned pumpkin. Everyone loves them and we roll those out. Rolling is easy and the kids love it, though I must admit it is always a messy affair!..lol

i used to makeor rather bake more when i was home all the time with my kids when they were small. i used to make christmas cookies and decorate them with sprinkles and whatnot. as for halloween, we tend to ignore this 'holiday' as we are christians and my kids are just not into it.

We too are Christian and it is a Holiday that was a wrap up of Irish and Catholic observances.

Hi there OpinionatedLady I love to bake too. I will look online or in magazines to see if I can try a new recipe. One thing that I really enjoy making myself is cupcakes, why I am not sure but those are my favorite baked goods to create. I have plans to start baking a lot in these coming winter months and I enjoy sharing the hobby with my girls as well. Take care and happy mylotting to you.

I suck at baking so therefore I buy the cookie dough already made and cut out. I just pop them in the oven. Does this count for anything?
