I am 47 and I hate getting older! My skin isn't like it used to be! My chin is starting sagging! I still get pimples from time to time! I have wrinkles and am not looking forword to more! I have more and more aches and pains every day! Now that it is fall I am chilled all the time at home! Even if it 50 degrees outside! I used to be comfortable naked or just with a bathrobe on! Now I dress must of the time at home in sweats! I dread winter more and more ever year, too! My metablism is slowed down! I can't eat like I used to! I'm lazier then ever! Growing old is not fun! I wish i could go back to 25 and start over then! I hate this!

I know where you are coming from,i am 38 and i feel alot older than that.I think having six children has turned me old looking and as for the aches and pains well they have been there for a while,as i have swollen joints in my toes as well as a twist to my spine.I hate the cold and just like you i seem to feel the cold alot more now.

WOW A WHOLE 45, JUST YOU WAIT HONEY UNTIL YOUR PUSHIN 60, BUT SERIOUSLY THINGS HAPPEN, AND YOUR MOST LIKELY COLD BECAUSE YOU LIVE WAY WAY UP NORTH. I LIKE OLDER WOMEN ALWAYS HAVE IT SHOWS THEY LIVED THEIR LIFE WELL AND ARE MATURE IN THEIR OWN WAY. THEY MAY NOT BE CUTE OR PERT BUT THEY SURE ARE SEXY. HECK IM 59+ and still get a zit every now and then.

Thanks for the response! I know things happen and we all age! I just feel my life,in some ways, has been wasted and I'll never get back! That is why I really hate aging!

Are you ever happy or positive about anything at all? I've read many of your discussions and most of them are angry, bitter and complaining. Nothing will age you quicker and harsher than such a bitter attitude. I think it would be to your benefit and for all those that care about you if you checked in and invested in some therapy to find out why you are so angry and maybe help you get over it. Maybe if you smiled more then you would look younger and the world would not seem like such a horrible place.

Well, whatever works for you. You've told me a bit about your childhood and that explains a lot to me. I can imagine how hard it was for you. I'm sorry you feel as you do but I'm seeing that you probably have your reasons.

all this at 47? unlucky. anyway i personally wouldn't go back to my twenties. i am 31 now (still keeping my eyes peeled for wrinkles, actually wouldn't mind a few around the eyes, then people might stop asking me what i am studying and iding me for booze). you feel more secure as you get older and while the looks might go gradually i think experience makes up for that.

I am more secure as I have gotton older! I just don't like growing older and I'm not the only one who complains about it! There are people out in this world who much worse at complaining about age then I ever will be!

i think i have met them. for example the people that thought after twenty five was all downhill. they got freaked out about thirty. i kept trying to say - worry about this when you are actually old. like 80. it is ridiculous to be doing this earlier. i even know 19 year olds that got scared by the sight of the first grey hair. yes of course. when you hit 20 you'll be using a zimmer...

I don't like getting older either. I hate to think about my vody aching or getting gray hair or wrinkles. Life itself has already taken a toll on me physically and mentally. I do not wish to be real young either.

steph. i just checked your profile - you are 38. now i can understand that perhaps you have had a hard life - so have i - but i thinking fretting about getting older needs to be put on hold until you are at least 70.

But what you are doing right now blue is starting premenopause that you state all the symptoms that go with it. to me being old is fun compared to not being here.he he.After menopause you will feel much younger again trust me.You cannot turn back the clock ,we all get older and sometimes wiser.

Didn't realize you are 83! Anyway I hope when I do go through menopause it isn't bad like some women have been through! I have heard horror stories! Anyway I can't turn back the clock even though I'd love to! I just feel I wasted alot of my life and this is why I hate aging so much! This drives my nuts!

Adopt a more positive outlook like that tomorrow is the start of the rest of my life and that I still have many more exciting things to do and places to see. My mum is 63 and looks much younger than she is and enjoys hillwalking and regular swims and still wears a bikini on the beach. Chin up and remember age is only a number on a birth certificate.
