Frustrating!

I just had the misfortune to hit my cursor against one of the awful blue lines in a text here, accidentaly. A box opened which I immedately pressed the red close icon on but it wouldn't go away. The box didn't do much except take it's time to come up with a name 'Inventnow' and did not respond to the red close icon. Finally it closed down everything I had open through the internet except email. So have you endured frustration through these lines too?

that's bad as i look at the situation, thea. hmmm... i never experienced having trouble with the blue lines, so far. i hope i won't get any. i am using mozilla firefox and maybe, this one really protects us from other sites. as zed had said in his response, it might have done the trick for me.

Hi neil, it's the first time I've ever accidentally hit one, the only other time was an experiment and I was glad to see that that the blue lines rejected me then, but obviously more work has been done. Pity they don't try to sort out the alerts rather than messing about with these blue things.

Hi thea Watch out where those fingers go..LOL..I know what you mean. Im not a big computer wiz either. IF it wasn't for my youngest son I would have been in alot of trouble at several different times..LOL..I know those blue words are a problem sometimes. I haven't hit any of those yet but I have heard others saying they got in one of them and couldn't get out. I too wish mylot admin hadn't started this. It would be different if we got something out of it. Have a great week and keep smiling my friend.

Your cursor wouldn't behave because your brain is too excited. Enjoy the move, oh it's only Tuesday, you've got more time to Mylot first.

Hi thea LOL..I dont have a lot to pack up from this camper. But I do go today and get the rental contract and the keys. YEAAAAA...Then I think that I will have to finish the painting in the ulitity room. My husband's cousin told me yesterday if I needed to paint that she would help. So that will speed things up. I just hope that we can move in this weekend. Im having those finger problems this morning. It took me two tries to get to mylot because my hand keep taking the cursor to the wrong site...LOL..I gave them a little smack and now I think they are working the right way..LOL..Have a great day my friend. Keep smiling..

I think that I would be utterly frustrated myself if that happened... Now for it just shutting down the tabs, it's done that before to me, I don't know if it was because of mylot or just what though.

Hi Amber, it is annoying when you don't want the thing even open in the first place, it opens against your will and then refuses to go away without turning everything off. Hopefully I won't catch one again, nasty little things.

Hi Aunty, it seems that only Shirley and I have both been hit with this one, just be careful if you hit your cursor too hard passing by one.

mylot needs to earn money in order to be able to pay us. i guess they are looking for more options to earn (as membership is steadily increasing and they might need to keep up with it). as for the blue lines, it may be still under process of being developed. have patience and i am sure the admin is working to resolve various issues with it.

Hi sunny, I know what their intention is but it's possible some of them are virus infected. As I say the one I had lost everything open trying to get rid of it.

Hi Thea, I'm not sure where my cursor was when I did get a virus from myLot (it was the site I was on) A window popped up and declared "You are in danger of loading a virus, to protect yourself you must download "Windows Police Pro" to get rid of the virus." I am also computer challenged and the "loop" began, it wouldn't let me close out and then it hijacked the admistrator commands and then nothing could be done. I had to wipe out the computer and reinstall the recovery disc. It just happened last week so if you see anything that says Windows Police Pro, do not launch it, use your anti-virus program to get rid of it.

Hi linamachina, we seem to have a lot of technophobes together on this discussion. I know already not to download anything which pops up as my sons laptop got infected by 37 trojan things which prevented him from using it, and they were put in by an antivirus scammer who wanted me to pay for the anti virus product. Luckily a friend here talked through the instructions on how to fix that one, so if you ever get stuck just put a discussion up in the computer interest and usually help will be on the way.

Ha...ha! Welcome to the "blue line" virus! I have actually had to shut this old computer down, to get out of the middle of that melee! The curse of the cursor...just have to watch how I handle my "mouse" so I don't get into that TRAP! HUGZ!

A GREAT BIG 'THANK YOU'...THEA! On a bleak, miserable..rain fall record setting week...the "best response" was a great ray of sunshine! It is about the "blue" virus I wished to privately e-mail...you, and WILL find a way. AVOID if possible! SURE do hope your sun is shining today...for your Olive harvest, and hopefully your harvest is prolific! Just another aside...have you thought of a sleeping bag..and make a nice "duvet" cover for it? They shud be as near, in Northern Europe! Possibly easier shipping! TAKE CARE...and HUGZ!

I must say Shirley you had me so curious about this email and it was about a blue virus. don't tell the rabbit you sent such a long response for the BR, I only sent her a . I don't like them as much when you can't see how many you've got, the pages don't load properly to see BR after a while, probably a blue virus. As to the email Alice sent one the other day and that came through fine, as did JB's and all my others, maybe some provider across the pond doesn't like OTE net. Maybe the big boss over there had a daughter who ran off with a Greek. Re the quilt I'm waiting to hear from a Brit who lives here who might have the solution for me.

i wonder if it's a virus? trying to download itself to your computer. that's why it doesn't close even if you already press the close x red button. well it happens to me quite some time. it was kinda frustrating, yes. but what's more important at that part is that i have avoided something else more worse to happen like downloading the virus and empty my whole computer. anyway, maybe you just have to be more careful next time. or you can also check your anti-virus or firewall, it might help you avoid things like this to happen again. happy mylotting! keep smiling!

hi thea oh my G. I thought I was going bananas trying to get 'rid of the blue lines that took me to invent now and then I could not get it to close. then I was taken off of everything and was back in email. grrr frustration time indeed. just what the heck good are these little blue lines, and they are so darned easy to set off, then it takes some doing to get rid of them.

Using Firefox with noscript add on at work, no problems. But I'm not running noscript at home (would have to come running every 10 seconds when the kids had a problem), so yeah, I've run into it.

No luckily! I'm sure that would be very frustrating! Mylot couldn't possibly be paying out too much that they aren't making money could they?

Hi Zeph, well let's hope not. My original theory about the blue lines being somehow targeted to our interests must have been a bit off base though as I've never shown any interest in inventions on here - I did respond though now I think to two friends discussions last week on what would you invent and what would you univent, and by doing that inventions could now be stuck in my interest rankings waiting to be targeted. Signs of big brother is watching.

Hey thea! Unfortunately, that happened to me too! I accidently hit one of those most obnoxious blue underlined words and it threw me out of everything and I had to start all over again and was I ever pissed! I don't know why Mylot is doing this to us! It is so annoying! Those words come in at the most inappropriate times and have no place in the discussions and responses! I am now going to ever so careful so that it doesn't happen again!

Hi Opal, did you happen to notice what it brought up as Hatley has just said it was the same place as mine, something called 'Inventnow', do you remember if it was the same place which caused yours to close down?

Hello, Thea. So far I've managed to avoid the blue lines like the plague. I preferred it when Mylot was devoid of blue lines, but I think we just have to accept that times are hard for many businesses, and at least the blue lines are helping to augment our Paypal accounts!

Hello Sandra, it was a mere accident, I ignore them as well, as best I can, which is impossible and even did an earlier discussion about their annoyance. Again they were introduced without any notification at all.
