Could you share some of your ideas? Im a little disappointed that I didn't fully decorate like I wanted to this year with the lights, and things outside so Im trying to make up for it with some crafts with my two girls. We just colored our pumpkins and made little pumpkin cut-outs but I wanted to hear what everyone else is doing, that would be cool.

We live where the trees turn colors, so we take string and make them into garlands for all over the inside and out side of the house. We also use acorns and pine cones. We also decorate gourds with felt to look like Halloween creatures.

I drape them everywhere! The mantles, doorways, lamp posts you name it. I never really thought about mobiles but I do hang them mobile like from the hanging light over our dining room table. It's shade is a basket style wicker so I can do it real easy. My ids love making them and do so for the woman next door every year and she wraps them all over her porch and deck railings.

We where out there this morning making scarecrows with old clothes and leaves and pumpkin buckets and thought of this discussion. The kids love making "people" and placing them around the yard!

Why didn't i think of that! I live at an apartment but we have our own entrance and little yard out front, I think this would be fun (with Kleenex ghost on the branches) I can go right to Goodwill and get some clothes to stuff, thanks

I teach and a fun thing to do is to get pumpkin shaped cookie dough and use it on bread. Either toast the bread, but you don't have to, and then spread this pumpkin mix. It's a can of pumpkin mix, 2 tablespoons butter, cinnamon, and a teaspoon of sugar mixed together. It tastes good. Keeps the children quite and covers breakfast/lunch.

A "Halloween tree" is fun. Find a branch of any size you wish, strip of all but a few colorful leaves, and anchor into a pot or pail of sand. You can decorate the tree with Kleenex and cotton-ball ghosts, and other Halloween designs cut from colored poster board or contruction paper. Candy or other treats hung on the tree with string or orange ribbon is nice, or popcorn and cranberries strung and used for a garland. After halloween, leave the popcorn and cranberries on the branch and set it outside where your kids can see the birds enjoy them. Karen

We have four large pumpkins that we are cutting out in different designs and then when done we will put a candle inside to light it up. They then will be put outside for decorations. The different designs can be a witch's face, ghost, bat, mummy face or a haunted house.

I let my daughter paint pumpkins and ghosts on the windows and sliding glass doors. They have paint just for this, but I find that poster paint, acrylic or watercolors are just fine. I let her use crayons too. I use a razor blade to remove it after the holiday. The window paint is not that easy to remove so why pay for it. We also baked cookies. We made placemats from fallen leaves by just gluing them to construction paper. Paper chains were great too.

Not at all knives will work just as well. That is what we used when I was a little girl. They didn't have these special kits back in the day!
