Fire Detectors

Do you have a fire detector in your home? How many do you have in your home? Do you check the batteries, and test the detectors that you have, regularly? I know that in our home, there is a fire detector on every level of the house. I believe that it is very easy to do, and I would much rather be safer than sorry. I'm also thinking of buying a window ladder to put in each room. I would hate to have to use them, but I would rather they be there just in case.

I have one detector in my home, and I always make sure the batteries are good in it. I also have a carbon monioxide detector as well. And I make sure that is in good working condition as well.
