hi all, i'm excited after a rotten afternoon yesterday. where things didn't go right checking animals and feeing them. this morning i found we've got i think 8-10 baby turkey's, mother wouldn't get off them yesterday for me to see. so do you get excited when you have pets born? do you have to tell everyone about it?

I have always lived around animals. We always got excited when there was a new batch of baby animals. It is our love of animals and the continued continuation of the cycle of life that excites us each and every time. It never changes or stops. The cycle of life- ain't it grand?!

Cool. No, it sure doesn't. Have your kids witnessed a birth yet?

I am always fascinated by newborns, except rats, I think. But I have not seen a baby turkey. I don't even know what a baby turkey is called. You must be very happy.

i think baby turkey's are also called chicks. they look like chickens, expect a bit bigger and mother turkey's can be as bad as sheep for leaving their babies. don't like baby mice or rats either. but we are happy now just got to make them live.

Wow, that's a very interesting info about ewes and lambs. I really thought they stick together all the time and that only one goes astray for the shepherd to look after. I wish the turkey doesn't abandon her chicks soon. The hens are very protective. I had a some chickens before. And goats, too. I just love farmyard friends.

I think new baby animals are one of the most exciting, and heartwarming things about this life.

i share the same excitement that u felt. one mature dog of ours delivered 5 new puppies. they are so cute and they have different colors of brown, black, white and gray. we are all excited about it and we gathered around the newborns. the mother dog didn't give us any indication that she was jealous nor angry with us going near her. we even touched her newborns. she delivered 5 puppies last week but early this week, we lost one puppy.. it was sad for all of us.

glad to hear your happy with your dog, and sorry you lost one. it's just like losing a member of your family. i find it the same fasination when any of the animals you have give birth, even thou we see it a fair bit. we've only had one of turkey babies, at one time and one got eaten a few weeks ago. but this is the biggest lot yet. best of luck with your puppies.

the mother turkey wasn't happy with me cause i wouldn't let her out the cage. but the baby turkey's look a bit bigger than a chicken. but it's exciting cause we've never had this many born at once. thanks.
