How many online friends have you met in real life? was it what you thought it was going to be when you met them? My current bf is someone that I met online. Our online relationship was better, but we have been living together for several months so I guess it translated to real life to a degree. Other than that I havent met any online friends in real life.

I met my husband online. We were both members of the same friendship/dating site, we started by exchanging some emails and later on we met in real life. Our meeeting was a success. We became a couple and one year later we got married Before I met my husband I met two other guys that I had found online, those meetings weren't very successful, but I am very happy that I didn't give up, otherwise I wouldn't have met my husband. I have met many of my online friends, and two of my online friends have become close friends in real life. I have also met a small group of people from the same site. We went to a cafe to drink coffee and afterwards we had dinner together. It was a lot of fun.

I think it would be cool to meet some people online that are from my geographic area but I dont think that too many of them are. I am on asite that has some people that live kind of near me, but not extremely near me. I do like to post on fourms online though. It is something that is fun for me. I really dont know a whole lot about the people online thouhg.

I have met three people in real life that I originally met online. One is a friend who drives a truck for a living, so when his job brought him our way, he was able to stop in for a visit. Another is a friend who came all the way from Australia to visit with me. The third person I met online is now my husband. When you are transitioning online relationships to real life you must remember that we are all just average, ordinary people but that doesn't mean your relationship cannot be exciting. Just be prepared to accept the real life daily pitfalls of being human and remember the heart of the person you fell in love with online - it's still the same.

That is a good point Rollo. I think my bf and I never really had quality chats though and that is part of the probelm. We were just into the romance and seduction of the whole thing.

I have met quite a few of my online friends, real time. And it was a treasure to be able to make that transition from online to real time. I also met my present husband online, and we been together going on 9 years. I have enjoyed all my experiences. Where I know many that do make the leap from online to offline, don't.

I have not met any of the online friends, though some are in the same city. Sometime when travelling overseas and short of assistance, I might turn to online friends as last resort. I am also willing to provide help in case of need. Anyway, friends in need are friends in deed. Do you agree?

Yes, I think sometimes it is actually better to have thme online because if you met them in real life you might not like something about them. Everything is pretty sanitized online. You might see a picture of the person, but you dont know what their real personality is like.

Never meet a single online friend, just manage to meet up with my penpal. It doesn't really matter whether there is a chance to meet up or not, I guess the online friendships are as good as friends from offline.

met my faince online... and a few others from online... some from my own town aswell!! soon to do same with few friends iv got to know really well online n over the phone who live other side of the country... and fella wants to meet new friends too... so yeah.. i prefer REAL friends to online ones... chatting over phone makes them more real.. to me as can tell who they really are by way the send txts or sound. And get to know strange querks they migth have... one friend is a hopeless romantic... and i knwo what she is like when it comes to an es of hers.. So bit emy tongue n jsut give advice n support... she knows i dnt approve and wants me to say what i really wana say... and eventually do... after she verbally beats it out of me... she hates it when i clam up n dnt speak my mind... loves honesty and dnt get more honest as a friedn than me!! just shame i dnt get same back really... lol
