I decided to make my Christmas cards a bit different this year. I am doing vintage cards...I have always loved lace and antiques so I found these vintage cuts and used them to make my cards. Do you make your christmas cards?

Hi jillhill, Sounds very nice but I wish I was handy like that but I´m not so I try to buy nice Cards if I can and for me it´s the same thing. I do shop around as the choice of cards here is very limited but anyway if someone sent me a Card like that with lace and things I would be really delighted. You must be really artistic Jill. Do you do Halloween things too?

I love it! I would really like to make my own cards as it would be such a warm touch. But unfortunately I cannot afford to and don't have the time. I usually just get the cheap box of generic cards & type out a Christmas letter with updates of the family and stick it in there. Good luck to you! The people receiving them are truly lucky!

The cards sound so neat. I love antique looking things also. Am sure your finished project is great looking. You come up with really unique crafts. Actually, I don't send Christmas cards anymore except to our kids and grandkids. Haven't sent any in several years now and our friends still like us! Amazing but it's true.

I like the picture of the christmas card you posted. I used to make my own christmas cards but I don't do it anymore. I always have my son's picture made and turned into christmas cards or either I take a picture of him and then take it to CVS and make it into christmas cards. Then we send them out like that.

That sounds cool. Much more special than store bought. No, I've never made homemade Christmas cards. Although I did have fun making homemade Valentine's Day cards. They were pretty popular with the people I sent them to. That was several years ago though.

That sounds very pretty, I am sure people will enjoy getting them, and will keep them. As for making my own cards I have to say no. I am lucky if I even get them mailed out on time. I am so bad about sending out Christmas cards. If I don't turn around and send one right away when we get one I will forget to send a card to that perosn. So that is my system, I get a card, I address and envelope and send one right back to that person. I have been saying for years I am going to put the addresses in my computer as the cards come in and have all the names and addresses there ready to print out and send everyone cards. But like I said I have been telling myself to do that for years and never have.

Hi jillhill, we don't have christmas cards here, nor birthday cards or nameday cards, in fact we don't have any cards at all. I really hope that the card world doesn't find out and try to colonise up. I think it's really refreshing not to have cards for everything and just think of the trees we save.

Most probably I will make my own Christmas Cards this year. It will save us a little and I just think that I am much more creative this year! I will just buy some papers and try to make some 3D images. Well, it's only a planning, but I am kind of excited just thinking about it. I haven't made any cards for a long time already. I used to design some birthday cards a few years back and I have that type of papers that are specially for making cards. I think I have put them inside a box somewhere... So, do you usually make your own Christmas cards??

I've made my own Christmas cards for the past two years. However, I create them digitally and send them off to be printed. That is what works the best for me with my limited time and resources. However, I also feel like I am really putting that little something extra into my own cards by making them myself. I incorporate pictures of the children into them and they are a keepsake in and of themselves. I really like being able to send and to receive homemade cards of some sort.
